Edson's warranty extends to the motor mount and bracket only.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"om-block\" id=\"om-install\"\u003e\n\u003ch2 class=\"om-h\"\u003eInstalling the Deck Plate\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ePermanently mount the bronze deck plate to the vessel, secured to adequate structure.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eLocate it by dry-fitting with the stainless bracket attached: this ensures proper spacing from the shear line.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eUse 6 × 1\/4\" bolts with washers, an adequate backing plate (if applicable) and ample bedding compound to seal against leaks.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"om-block\" id=\"om-use\"\u003e\n\u003ch2 class=\"om-h\"\u003eMounting and Removing the Outboard\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003col\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eMake sure conditions are safe: calm water and a level vessel are ideal and recommended.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eMate the stainless bracket with the bronze deck plate and screw in the eye bolt until it is tight enough that it won't back off.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eMove the outboard to a safe position (within the cockpit) near the mounting bracket.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eTie a safety line from the outboard to the eye bolt on the bracket.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eLift the outboard onto the bracket and secure it. Make sure the safety line will not interfere with the operation of the motor.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eTo remove, reverse the process: remove the outboard first, then the bracket.
