Plates clamped to the mast, drilled Ø 5 mm and countersunk so the conical heads sit flush: at least 12 pop rivets (14) per plate; pop-rivet the plates to the gooseneck. Fit the articulation (10) on (12a) to locate the upper gooseneck (12b), then fit its plates the same way.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eAssemble the profiles on the ground from the feeder profile; the head of each Nylon bushing (55) points to the bottom of the column. Leave the last 2 meter profile off. Hoist with the topping lift, pulling from the bottom; seat the feeder profile in the articulation (10). Leave two slide screws at the mast foot.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eArticulation brackets: stainless pin (21) pointing up into the bushing (55), locknuts (8) at 1 to 1,5 daN\/m. Delivered pre-assembled in over-length.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eIf the full length is used, the rear end fitting is only fitted temporarily for shipping: finish it as if the boom had been cut.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eRemove the rear end fitting (23), pull the mandrel out under control (keep washer 20), square the cut with a paper wrap, cut and file.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eCut the mandrel by exactly the same amount (example: 435 mm), at the \u003cstrong\u003erear\u003c\/strong\u003e only – never the drum end. Refit bearing and holder (19); tap M8 (8mm) opposite the foot tracks at 50 mm from the cut end and fit screws (58).\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eMandrel a little short: loosen the screw, push the mandrel forward, pull the holder out until washer (20) touches, retighten.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eDrill Ø 5mm through the rear end fitting holes and fit the flat head pop rivets (24).\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eHoist the boom level while pulling it aft; insert horizontal pin (29), washer and split pin – open the split pin. Never drop or raise the boom more than 15° from horizontal.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\n\u003ch2 class=\"om-h\"\u003eVang, Mainsheet \u0026amp; Lines\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eVang ideally at 45°, never under 30°. Attachment (32) on the 2 slide screws left at the mast foot; plates cambered, drilled Ø 5 mm and countersunk, at least 12 pop rivets (14) per plate; stickers (37) over the rivets on both attachments.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eArticulation eye (39): Nylon washer (40), Nylon washer (41), stainless washer (42), locknut (43), split pin (45); pin the vang to the eye and hound (28).\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eMainsheet bails (25) set with the set screws underneath; as far aft as possible with a deck or coachroof mainsheet ahead of the hatch; stopper knot in the mainsheet so the boom cannot hit the aft shrouds.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eBall bearing block (supplied) at the starboard mast foot, line into the middle of the drum at 90°, knot hidden in the drum shaft. Back off the starboard knob (43) about 3 turns, slide head and luff tape between the bronze rollers (44) and hoist a few centimetres by hand.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ol\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\n\u003ch2 class=\"om-h\"\u003eFeeder \u0026amp; Vang Angle\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eRoller gap: starboard knob (43) hand-tight (not over-tight); turn screw (46) with an Allen key until the luff tape is pinched, then back off about ¼ turn.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eRe-inserting the luff tape: open the knob a few turns, feed between the rollers (44) into the luff track.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eVang angle (no wind, head to wind): hoist with normal halyard tension, free the hound (28), mainsheet slack, let the boom hang, retighten.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eFine tuning as printed: luff tape rolls too far aft → set the hound so the boom angles forward a little more; rolls too much up → boom angles down a little more.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"om-block\" id=\"om-use\"\u003e\n\u003ch2 class=\"om-h\"\u003eUsing the System\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eKeep control of the boom with the mainsheet when gybing; release any boom brake before furling.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eReef or furl from a broad reach or closer; release the mainsheet completely first so the vang brings the boom to its operating angle.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eIf it rolls badly, hoist fully, check the vang adjustment and try again. Keep slight drag on the furling line when hoisting.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWhen reefing, stop with the head just above a connector\/articulation so the luff profile does not sag; reefing marks at feeder level help.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eIn harbour or under power, move the halyard from the head to the boom end and tension it, or use the topping lift.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWith swept spreaders or aft shrouds the sail touches the rig earlier – come head to wind to reef.
