Fix the forestay between the link plates with a pin of suitable diameter (not delivered).\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eSpliced furling line (sail disconnected): make a loop, thread it through the cage, engage one side in the spool notch and turn the spool to bring the line out on the other side.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ol\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\n\u003ch2 class=\"om-h\"\u003eHead swivel, deck \u0026amp; sail\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003col\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eFasten the forestay on the head swivel fork pin and lock with a split pin; fit the head swivel on the mast fastening with the pins and split pins supplied.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eFit the spool mechanism on the deck fastening with the pins supplied.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eCage: delivered fitted but not locked. Orient it so the furling line is aligned and does not scrape, then tighten the pre-fitted screw (15 Nm). No need to dismantle the halyard swivel.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eHalyard soft shackle: requires dismantling the halyard swivel. Place it through the 2 holes, then lay both loops in the swivel groove, the second over the first.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWithdraw a loop if it fails a visual inspection, its history is unknown, it is over 2 years old, or you have the slightest doubt; inspect regularly for cuts, wear, heat, chemical or UV damage.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eFurling direction: check the lay of the wire strands and always furl in the same direction so the cable does not untwist.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eNever use the halyard swivel to climb the mast or for loading applications.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eNo special maintenance: rinse with fresh water; never use WD40 (or similar) on the seals.
