Deck fastenings are not supplied: length = deck plate + deck thickness + washers (or backing plate) and nuts.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eMotor (two persons; correct alignment is essential, misalignment causes noise, vibration and premature bearing and gear wear): remove the centre locknut from the drive shaft housing, screw the supplied eye bolt into the top of the motor drive shaft and use a strong rope (a lifting device is recommended) to raise the motor until the shaft comes through the deck and deck plate.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eRotate the motor to suit the cavity: the protruding detail on the drive shaft housing flange must fit snugly into the recesses of the deck plate so the flange sits flush under it.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eFit the seal dust cover and isolation washer in the top of the deck plate, check the compression ring is in the groove on top of the centre locknut, then fit and tighten the locknut with the spindle nut socket tool supplied. No sealant between locknut and deck plate (an O-ring seals it); extra sealant can go on top of the deck plate around the locknut after installation.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ol\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\n\u003ch3 class=\"om-h3\"\u003eWinch on the Deck Plate\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003col\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eNew E1 winch: remove the self-tailing arm (latch back, slight anti-clockwise turn), closing plate and closing washer, then pull the drum off.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eExisting manual 40QT (conversion): remove the winch from the deck and clean off old sealant (the existing hole pattern matches the deck plate). Lift off the roller bearing and ball bearing race, remove the gear axle and output gear, turn the centre stem over and remove the 2 x M5 cap head screws (4mm hex key) and the base plate.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eInsert the drive gear in the recess of the centre stem, set the stem over the deck plate and move it until the drive gear engages the top of the motor drive shaft. Align the 5 holes.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eFasten with the 5 supplied M6x16 screws and washers: Tef-Gel™ under each washer, medium strength thread lock, no more than 7.1Nm. On a conversion, refit the ball bearing race and roller bearing.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eRefit drum, closing washer (correct side up) and closing plate (pip in the dimple), then the self-tailing arm until it clicks.
