each press steps 5,4,1,0 → 5 mins → 3 mins → 1 min → 5,4,1,0. The indicators at the top of the display show which programme is selected.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eSet one period (press \"PROG\" once) or multiples (press \"PROG\" several times, countdown and up or the 1 minute programme of countdown repeat), then press \"START\". The countdown can be stopped and restarted as many times as required.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eAt zero, countdown and up switches to counting up (up arrow icon) to 59 mins 59 secs, then starts at 0:00 again – elapsed race time, useful in handicap racing. Countdown repeat reverts to the programmed time and counts down again.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eOnce the countdown is running only \"START\/STOP\", \"SYNC\" and \"MODE\" work. A single beep confirms any button press that has a function.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eSilence the alarm for visual use only: hold \"MODE\" for approximately 2 seconds until a short bip; the bell icon disappears. Repeat to switch it back on.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eSYNC – synchronising with the starter\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\"SYNC\" only works during a running countdown. If you started late, or even missed the preparatory signal, just start the watch and press \"SYNC\" on the next signal: the display drops to the next full minute (5:08 → 5:00; 3:35 or 3:59 → 3:00) and keeps counting down.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThe \"SYNC\" button is deliberately stiffer than the other click-type buttons so it is not knocked by accident.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"om-block om-grid2\" id=\"om-care\"\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\n\u003ch2 class=\"om-h\"\u003eStrap and Mounting\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eElastic strap: pass the elastic through the clasp from the bottom to the top, pull to the required tightness, press the clasp firmly closed and push the elastic loop over the spare end.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThe timer case can be turned inside the outer clip for a better viewing angle.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eOn the back of the hand: remove the timer and the strap from the outer clip, sew the clip to a glove through its 2 holes, then push the timer back in until it clicks positively.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eOn the boom or any flat surface: fit the plastic spacer bar between the boat and the outer clip with countersunk screws or pop rivets.
