With too small a halyard angle the shackle can chafe the extrusion.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eHoist the sail fully, rotate the luff extrusion and check the clearance between halyard shackle and luff (point A).\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eIf it is too small, use one of the three fixes below.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"om-block\" id=\"om-fixes\"\u003e\n\u003ch2 class=\"om-h\"\u003eThree Fixes\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"om-tbl nw\"\u003e\u003ctable\u003e\n\u003ctr\u003e\n\u003cth\u003eHalyard \/ situation\u003c\/th\u003e\n\u003cth\u003eFix\u003c\/th\u003e\n\u003c\/tr\u003e\n\u003ctr\u003e\n\u003ctd\u003e1. Inspect the HMPE loop and soft shackle for chafing at regular intervals.\u003c\/td\u003e\n\u003c\/tr\u003e\n\u003ctr\u003e\n\u003ctd\u003e2. Knotted shackle, or wire halyard with fixed eye\u003c\/td\u003e\n\u003ctd\u003eThe angle between halyard and luff extrusion must be \u0026gt;15°. Use the halyard leads supplied in the Furlex pack to get it, and make sure the shackle does not touch the extrusion.\u003c\/td\u003e\n\u003c\/tr\u003e\n\u003ctr\u003e\n\u003ctd\u003e3. Sail too short\u003c\/td\u003e\n\u003ctd\u003eA short sail brings the shackle closer to the extrusion.
