Service Notes (Product Information sheet)

RC8

  • Released March 2009; bolt-in replacement for the Freedom (identical bolt pattern; the chain pipe hole may need enlarging).
  • October 2009: nylon washer SP0443 under the clutch nut replaced by stainless SP0421; February 2010: that washer removed, chainwheel material added, chainwheel fasteners changed from 2 × M4 to 2 × M5, drain slot added to deck insert 7008 and rope groove made shallower.
  • January 2011: stripper 7010 redesigned for soft / loose ropes.
  • Chainwheel identification: 6mm upper 6974 / lower 6975; 8mm upper 7004 / lower 7005.
  • The RC8 clutch cone (4168) is pressed onto the shaft: replace the shaft assembly, not the cone alone.
  • Options: extra deck clearance (additional 100mm); nylon insulating gasket 7320; stainless plate 7307 to cover the holes of a Freedom ‘Performance plate’.

RC10

  • Released October 2008. September 2009: deckplate changed from chrome bronze to stainless steel and the pressure arm changed – the bronze version has four cap screws securing the deckplate, the stainless version two. Stainless deckplate and pressure arm are not retrofittable.
  • Composite plastic coated stainless stripper; able to run combination rodes.
  • Clutch cone 6919 is a press fit on the shaft: supplied as part of the shaft kits.
  • Apply Loctite 222 threadlock to the chainwheel cap screws SP4503.
  • Options: extra deck clearance (additional 100mm); nylon insulating gasket 7321.
