Terms & Conditions
These terms govern your use of this website and every order you place with us. They cover how orders are accepted, how we price and ship, what you can return, and the limits of what we warrant — including important safety terms that apply to rigging, sails, and safety equipment.
01Agreement to these terms
This website and the products sold on it are operated by Mauri Pro Sailing LLC, doing business as MAURIPRO Sailing (“MAURIPRO,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By browsing this site, creating an account, or placing an order, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the site or place an order.
These terms apply to orders shipped within the United States. We publish market-specific terms for other regions as we open them; where market-specific terms exist, they govern orders shipped to that market.
We may revise these terms at any time by posting an updated version with a new effective date. Revisions apply to orders placed after the effective date. The version in force when you placed your order governs that order, and we keep prior versions available on request.
If you place orders under a separate written agreement with us — a dealer, trade, yard, or fleet account — that agreement controls wherever it conflicts with these terms.
02Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract to place an order. By ordering, you confirm that you meet those conditions.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information in your account and for keeping your password confidential. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
We may refuse service, close accounts, cancel orders, or limit quantities at our discretion — for example where we suspect fraud, resale in breach of a supplier agreement, or repeated abuse of our returns policy.
03Products, product data, and fitment
We list products from more than 200 manufacturers. Specifications, dimensions, weights, working loads, compatibility notes, and images are supplied largely by those manufacturers. We work to keep them accurate, but we do not warrant that product data is complete, current, or error-free, and manufacturers change specifications without notice.
Colors shown on screen are approximate. Images may show a representative item, a different size within a range, or an assembly that includes parts sold separately.
Fitment is your responsibility. Sailboat hardware is dimension-critical. Before ordering, confirm that the part matches your rig, spar section, pin diameter, sheave size, line diameter, wire size, thread pitch, mounting pattern, and working load. Measure the item you are replacing rather than relying on a model year or a boat name alone.
Our team will gladly help you confirm a fitment before you buy. Advice we give — by email, phone, chat, or in a guide on this site — is offered in good faith as general guidance and does not transfer responsibility for the final selection, installation, or use of the equipment to us.
Product availability is not guaranteed until an order ships. Where an item is out of stock or discontinued, we will tell you and offer an alternative, a backorder, or a refund.
04Safety-critical equipment
Much of what we sell holds a rig up, holds a person on board, or is relied on in an emergency.
Standing and running rigging, furling systems, winches, blocks, shackles, travelers, jackstays, harnesses, tethers, lifejackets, liferafts, and other load-bearing or life-safety equipment must be selected, installed, inspected, and maintained by a competent person in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and applicable class or regulatory requirements.
Published working loads, breaking loads, and safe working load factors are the manufacturer's. Do not exceed them. Loads on a sailing yacht are dynamic and can exceed static calculations by a wide margin. If you are not certain a component is adequate for your application, consult a qualified rigger, naval architect, or marine surveyor before use.
Safety equipment carries service intervals and expiry dates set by its manufacturer or by the certifying authority. You are responsible for servicing and replacing it on schedule.
Nothing we sell is certified for lifting, rigging, climbing, or industrial load-bearing use ashore unless the manufacturer expressly certifies it for that purpose. Marine hardware is engineered for marine use.
Racing sailors are responsible for confirming that equipment complies with their class rules, the current Racing Rules of Sailing, and any applicable offshore special regulations. We do not warrant class legality.
05Pricing and price errors
Prices are shown in US dollars unless a different currency is displayed. Prices exclude taxes, duties, and shipping unless stated, and may change at any time before you place an order.
Some manufacturers set a minimum advertised price for their products. Where that applies, the price we can display may differ from the price at which we are able to sell. If you see a MAP-restricted item, contact us.
Pricing and typographical errors. With a catalog of this size, errors occur. If an item is listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information, we reserve the right to cancel or refuse any order placed at the incorrect price, whether or not the order has been confirmed and whether or not your card has been charged. If we cancel on this basis after charging you, we will refund you in full.
Promotional codes, sale prices, and free-shipping offers apply only while the promotion runs, cannot be combined unless stated, and are not applied retroactively to earlier orders.
06Orders and acceptance
Your order is an offer to buy. Our order confirmation email acknowledges that we received it — it is not acceptance. The contract forms when we ship the goods, or when we notify you that we accept the order, whichever comes first.
We may decline or cancel an order in whole or in part, including after confirmation, for reasons that include stock availability, a pricing or listing error, a suspected fraudulent or unauthorized transaction, a shipping restriction, or a supplier's territorial or resale restriction.
Once an order has entered fulfillment we may not be able to change or cancel it. Contact us immediately if you need a change and we will do what we can.
07Payment and taxes
We accept the payment methods shown at checkout. By submitting payment details you confirm that you are authorized to use the method.
Payment is generally captured when the order is placed. For backordered, special-order, and made-to-order items we may capture payment at the time of order to secure the goods with the manufacturer.
Sales tax is calculated at checkout based on the shipping destination and applicable law. If you hold a valid resale or exemption certificate, submit it to us before ordering.
For orders shipped outside the United States, duties, import taxes, brokerage, and customs fees are your responsibility and are charged separately by the carrier or customs authority unless we state otherwise at checkout.
If a payment is reversed or a chargeback is filed without first contacting us, we may suspend your account and recover the amount together with reasonable costs.
08Shipping and delivery
Shipping methods, rates, and any free-shipping threshold are shown at checkout and on our Shipping Policy page, which forms part of these terms.
Delivery estimates are estimates. Transit times quoted by us or by a carrier are not guaranteed unless you purchase a guaranteed service and the carrier honors that guarantee. We are not liable for carrier delays, weather, customs holds, or missed events.
Handling time is separate from transit time. In-stock items normally leave our facility within 3 to 4 business days. Special-order and drop-shipped items depend on the manufacturer's lead time, which we will confirm to you.
Title and risk of loss pass to you when we deliver the goods to the carrier. We will nonetheless help you pursue a claim for loss or damage in transit — see the inspection requirement below.
Inspect on arrival. Check the shipment before signing where a signature is taken, and note any visible damage on the delivery receipt. Report shortages, wrong items, or damage to us within 5 business days of delivery, with photographs of the packaging and the goods. Claims made after that window, or where the packaging has been discarded, may not be recoverable from the carrier.
We ship to the address you provide. Address corrections, redelivery, and return-to-sender charges caused by an incorrect or incomplete address are your responsibility.
09Oversize items and freight
Spars, booms, poles, long track and toerail, anchors, liferafts, sails in bulk, and other items that exceed carrier parcel limits ship by oversize or LTL freight. These items are identified on the product page.
Oversize and freight shipments are quoted separately, are not covered by any free-shipping offer, and may require you to accept delivery at a commercial address or terminal. Liftgate, residential delivery, appointment scheduling, and inside delivery are additional services that carry additional charges.
Someone must be present to receive a freight delivery, inspect it, and sign. Storage fees, redelivery fees, and refused-shipment charges assessed by the carrier are your responsibility.
Freight shipments must be inspected before the driver leaves. Note any damage — including damage to the crate, tube, or wrapping — on the bill of lading before signing. A clean signed bill of lading substantially limits what can be recovered from the carrier.
10Returns, exchanges, and cancellations
Our Returns & Exchanges page sets out the full procedure and forms part of these terms. We accept returns of both defective and non-defective products from the United States within 30 days after delivery.
| Time from delivery | What applies |
|---|---|
| 0–15 days | Refund or exchange by mail. The standard 20% restocking fee is waived as an introductory courtesy. |
| 16–30 days | Returns accepted for a refund, subject to a 20% restocking fee based on the product price. |
| After 30 days | Returns can no longer be accepted. Our technical support team remains fully available for manufacturer warranty assistance. |
| Custom and cut-to-length goods | Not returnable at any point. See §11. |
Request authorization. Contact our technical support team within the 30-day window to activate your return. Returns received without an authorization may be refused or delayed.
Return shipping and labels. Return shipping costs and labels are the customer's responsibility. You may select your preferred carrier — UPS, FedEx, or USPS — to securely mail the item back to our facility. We recommend an insured, tracked service, as you carry the risk until we receive the goods. Original outbound shipping is refunded only where we were at fault.
Items must be unused and uninstalled, in their original packaging with labels intact. Items returned used, installed, modified, cut, drilled, spliced, swaged, or without their packaging will be refused or refunded at a reduced value reflecting their condition.
Refunds are issued to the original payment method once we have received and inspected the goods.
11Custom, made-to-order, and cut goods
We build sails, standing rigging, running rigging, halyards, sheets, lifelines, and covers to your specification. These are manufactured for your vessel and cannot be resold.
Custom and cut-to-length goods are non-returnable and non-refundable except where the item is defective in materials or workmanship, or where it does not match the specification we confirmed to you in writing.
You are responsible for the measurements and specifications you supply. Where we prepare a specification from information you provide — rig dimensions, existing wire lengths, pin-to-pin measurements, sail plan data, luff length, or a boat model — you must review and approve it before we begin production. Your approval is the specification we build to.
Production lead times are estimates. We will keep you informed of material availability and loft schedule, but a delay in production is not grounds for cancellation once manufacturing has begun.
Orders for custom goods may be cancelled without charge only before we begin production. After that, cancellation charges reflect materials committed and work completed.
12Manufacturer warranties
Products are covered by the warranty offered by their manufacturer. Terms, duration, and remedies are set by the manufacturer and vary by brand. We pass through those warranties to you to the extent we are permitted to.
We will help you open and pursue a warranty claim with the brand, including gathering evidence and dealing with the manufacturer on your behalf. The manufacturer decides the outcome of the claim. Our technical support team remains available for warranty assistance after the return window has closed.
Warranties typically exclude normal wear, UV degradation, corrosion, improper installation, overloading, modification, accident, and lack of maintenance. Sails, running rigging, canvas, and coatings are consumable items with a service life that depends on use and exposure.
Where we manufacture goods ourselves, we warrant our workmanship for one year of normal use from the date of delivery. This warranty covers defects in our workmanship. It does not cover materials supplied by others, normal wear, UV degradation, improper installation, overloading, or damage from accident or lack of maintenance.
13Disclaimer of warranties
Except for the manufacturer warranties described in §12 and any warranty we give in writing, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, the site and all products are provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim all other warranties, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the site is free of harmful components.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties. In those jurisdictions, the exclusions above apply to the greatest extent permitted, and you may have additional rights.
14Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MAURIPRO, its officers, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profit, revenue, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or connected with your use of the site or any product — whether the claim is in contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise, and even if we were advised of the possibility.
This expressly includes loss of or damage to a vessel, loss of use, haul-out and yard costs, delivery or charter losses, missed races or passages, towing, salvage, and travel costs.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to a product or order will not exceed the amount you paid for the product giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
15Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MAURIPRO and its officers, employees, and suppliers from any claim, liability, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of a product, your installation or maintenance of a product, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
16Intellectual property
The site and its content — text, guides, tutorials, photography, layout, graphics, and the MAURIPRO name and logo — are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property law. You may view and print content for your personal, non-commercial use.
You may not copy, scrape, republish, or use our content, product data, or images for a competing catalog or commercial purpose without our written permission. Automated harvesting of the site is prohibited.
Manufacturer names, brands, logos, and product images are the property of their respective owners and are used to identify the products we sell.
17Reviews, questions, and submissions
If you post a review, question, photograph, or other content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to use, reproduce, adapt, and display it in connection with our business, including in marketing.
You confirm that the content is yours to license, is accurate, and does not infringe anyone's rights. We may edit or remove content that is unlawful, abusive, off-topic, or misleading, but we are not obliged to monitor submissions.
18Export control and international orders
Products sold on this site may be subject to export control and sanctions laws. You agree not to export, re-export, or transfer any product in violation of those laws, and you confirm you are not located in — and will not ship to — an embargoed country, and are not a party on a restricted-party list.
Some manufacturers restrict where their products may be sold. We may cancel an order that would breach a supplier's territorial agreement.
Certain marine electronics, EPIRBs, and radio equipment require registration or licensing in the country of use. Meeting those requirements is your responsibility.
19Privacy and electronic communications
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it, and forms part of these terms.
By providing an email address or phone number, you consent to receive communications about your order electronically. Marketing email is separate: you may opt out at any time through the unsubscribe link, and doing so does not affect transactional messages about your orders.
You agree that electronic records and signatures satisfy any legal requirement that a communication be in writing.
20Third-party links and services
We link to manufacturer sites, technical documents, and other resources for your convenience. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, products, or privacy practices.
Payment processing, hosting, and shipping are provided by third parties under their own terms.
21Events beyond our control
We are not liable for a delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disaster, severe weather, fire, epidemic, war, civil unrest, labor dispute, carrier failure, port congestion, supplier insolvency, government action, utility or network outage, or cyber-attack.
22Governing law and dispute resolution
Mauri Pro Sailing LLC is a Texas limited liability company. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
Talk to us first. Before starting any formal proceeding, contact us and give us 30 days to resolve the matter. Most issues are settled at this stage.
Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Any claim must be brought within one year of the event giving rise to it, to the extent permitted by law.
23General provisions
Entire agreement. These terms, together with the policies referenced in them, are the entire agreement between you and MAURIPRO regarding the site and your orders.
Severability. If a provision is held unenforceable, it is modified to the minimum extent necessary and the remainder stays in force.
No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
Assignment. You may not assign these terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Headings. Section headings and numbering are for reference and do not affect interpretation.
Language. These terms are written in English. Any translation is provided for convenience and the English version governs.
