Lower Connecting Spring Repair (595-122-E)

Material: 2 x 153-106 grub screw 5 x 16.

  1. Remove lubricating screw A and snap off cover B.
  2. Slide luff foil and joint sleeve clear of hub C.
  3. Cut the connection spring level with the joint sleeve base.
  4. Slide foil and sleeve firmly back into the hub (foil and sleeve fully bottomed).
  5. Drill a Ø 4,2mm (11/64") hole just below the flange on each side of the hub, through the foil and only 1,5 mm (1/16") into the joint sleeve – going right through can damage the forestay wire.
  6. Slide foil and sleeve out again and open their holes to Ø 5→5.3mm (13/64").
  7. Tap the hub holes M5.
  8. Refit foil and sleeve, check the holes line up, fit the M5 screws with locking adhesive.
  9. Refit the hub cover and lubricating screw.
