Henri Lloyd Sailing Base Layers

Comfort on the water is built from the skin out, and the base layer is the foundation. Its job is to move perspiration away from your body and dry quickly, so you stay warm when it's cold and never clammy when you're working hard. A good base layer makes every layer above it — mid layer, jacket, salopettes — perform as intended. Henri Lloyd brings 60-plus years of marine experience to first layers designed specifically for life at sea.

This collection covers short- and long-sleeve tops and bottoms in moisture-wicking, quick-drying technical fabric with a close, comfortable fit and flat seams that won't chafe under foul-weather gear. Lightweight options suit active sailing and warmer conditions, while warmer-weight base layers add insulation for cold-water passages and winter racing.

How to layer for sailing

Think in three stages: a base layer to wick moisture, a mid layer to insulate, and a waterproof shell to block wind and water. The base layer should sit close to the skin — too loose and it can't move moisture efficiently. Pick lighter weights for warm or high-effort sailing and heavier weights when you'll be cold or relatively still.

If you'd like help choosing weights for your climate and sailing, MAURIPRO Sailing's team is here — genuine Henri Lloyd base layers, with global shipping.
