How Roller Works

  • Roller is a cleat in hard black anodized or silver aluminium with two rotating horns and a peek ball that engages the open and closed positions. Turn one of the horns to shut it down.
  • Closed: minimum size, and other lines cannot get caught. Open: one movement of the hand opens it, even with the line on.
  • Rounded shape and smooth design, so it does not damage mooring lines.
  • The horns rotate in one direction only, so the closed cleat also works as a foot rest for the crew during hard manoeuvres.

Safe working load

  • With a spliced line the maximum load is the same for any line direction.
  • With a mooring knot the maximum load changes with the line direction: the manual shows 100%, 70% and 50% of SWL depending on the pull direction (diagram in the PDF).
  • The SWL may differ according to the pull direction and depends on the type of mooring line used.

Installation

  • You need: drill, sealant, Loctite 222 or 243. Studs, washers and nuts are included.
  • Mounting direction: Roller mounts one way only. Find the "in" mark on the base and fit it so the arrow points inboard.
  • Use the base (07) as a template to mark the anchoring holes on the deck, then drill the holes as listed in the table below.
  • Cut screws and threaded studs (06) to the required length. Use Loctite 222 or 243 on the threads and sealant around all anchoring holes under the cleat base.
  • Where the model has the stainless steel plate (included), fit the plate before tightening the nuts. Tighten all anchoring screws and nuts.

Part codes, descriptions and materials as printed on the Antal parts lists; quantities are on the drawings.

Using These Drawings

  • Each exploded view names every component with its Antal code and material. Quote the model code and the part code when you ask us for a spare.
  • Where a drawing has a separate parts list for a sub-assembly (sheave assembly, caps kit, screw kit), those parts are included in the table above under the same model.
  • Dimension drawings give the overall dimensions, fixing-hole positions, weight and SWL (safe working load). Each sheet states its own scale: to check fit, print at full size with page scaling off and measure against a dimension printed on the sheet.
  • Weight and SWL are copied as printed on each sheet; – means the value was not read from the sheet, so check the PDF.

Need a part that isn't listed? Ask us to source it and quote the part number from the PDF.
