Harken Deck Organizers (Clear Plastic) — Instructions

Installation

Covers organizers 724, 725, 726, 1867, 1868 and ESP 6052, 6053, 6054, 6055, 6066, 6067, 6071, 6075, 6102, 6103, 6104.

• Fit the enclosed clear plastic washers between the stainless washers and the aluminium top plate to prevent dissimilar-metal corrosion. Leaving them out voids the Harken warranty.
• Stainless fasteners in all mounting holes, with backing plates, washers and locknuts.
• The deck or mounting surface must be solid and designed for the block load. Consult the builder.
• Tighten bolts only wrist tight, 14 Nm (10 ft-lb), just enough to remove play between block and deck.

Do not use power drivers and do not overtighten: it permanently damages the organizer and makes the sheaves bind.

Maintenance

• Flush thoroughly with fresh water; periodically disassemble and clean with detergent and fresh water. No lubrication is required.
• Always use clear plastic washers between stainless fasteners and aluminium sideplates; coat stainless fasteners passing through aluminium with antiseize.
• Do not reuse locking nuts after they have been removed three times.
• Replace shackles and fasteners with Harken parts to keep the rated strength.
• Discolouration around holes and screws in corrosive atmospheres is not serious and can be removed with a fine abrasive.
• Teak cleaners and caustic solutions can discolour parts; not covered by the warranty.
