1253.ILCA is the complete kit (1250.ILCA, 1251 and 1252.ILCA), ILCA distribution only. The lower assembly has three 18 mm sheaves, one 25 mm Fly sheave and a 468 Micro Cam-Matic cleat; the 1251 has an 18 mm Fly and a 29 mm Zircon sheave; the 1250.ILCA has a 25 mm Fly sheave and a removable cast stainless boom key.

Reeving

  • 15:1: orient the large fiddle sheave horizontally for the most clearance and least friction in the secondary reeving.
  • 12:1: for light air, or stronger sailors who want less purchase and less line in the cockpit.

The 1251 has no replaceable parts; replace it if damaged.

Maintenance

  • Clean frequently with detergent and fresh water into the sheave and sideplate areas and the cam pawls.
  • Rotate the sheaves and pawls to spread it, then flush with fresh water while rotating.
  • No lubrication: ball bearings must roll, and lubricant makes them slide and wear out early.
