  • Composite sheaves insert-molded with low-friction ceramic bearings.
  • Sheave and sideplates in fiber-reinforced composite.
  • Structural head for soft attachment.

Attachment

  • Use lashings or loops secured to the head of the block.
  • Lash through both cheeks so the lashing holds the block together. A lashing in line with the seam can split the block apart.
  • A block added to the becket should carry no more than 1/3 of the upper block's load. Don't hang a fully loaded separate system off it.

Maintenance

Clean the block and attachments often with detergent and fresh water worked into the sheave, ceramic bearings and sideplates. Spin the sheave to spread it, then flush with fresh water while turning.

Inspect and replace worn, UV-damaged or compromised splices on lashings and attachment loops.
