Fitting the Converter

  • Remove the Gen 1 joystick and plug the converter into the existing 4-way loom connector.
  • Connect the Gen 2 panel to the converter directly or through an additional Gen 2 loom (8-way connector).
  • One converter per thruster; extra panels join through Y connectors/splitters. Existing wiring can stay before the converter; everything after it must be Gen 2 specification.
  • The red spade next to the 4-core thruster connector is for an ABS or PS switch if fitted.
  • Positive battery lead to the positive motor terminal. Don't remove the contactor cover unless authorised by Lewmar.

Torques & Safety Features

  • Motor studs: hold the inner nut with a second spanner, 13 mm for 110TT & 140TT and 17 mm for 185TT–300TT; tighten to 20 Nm (15 lbs.ft). Don't overtighten.
  • Fuse torque: 8mm 12.5 Nm (9.2lbf); 12mm 21.5 Nm (15.9lbf).
  • Auto shut-off after more than 10 minutes without use.
  • Fault mode if the joystick is held for more than 3 minutes continuously, or if the system is switched on with the joystick already operated.
  • With an automatic battery switch, main power comes on when the panel is switched on.
