*Excluding the cable connection zone. The cover reads Galaxy 303 – Galaxy 305; every page inside is headed Galaxy 303 and describes a 2-channel unit.
- In the box: 2-channel radio control (transmitter and receiver already paired), transmitter with 1.5V AAA alkaline batteries fitted, adhesive labels for windlass or thruster function, support kit for the transmitter and 4 screws 3.5x13mm for RX and TX, instructions.
Installation & Wiring
- Always disconnect the battery before installation.
- Mount the receiver well away from large metal masses and electric motors or the windlass.
- Behind metal bulkheads or other obstacles to the radio signal, fit the optional external antenna (not included).
- Stick the label for the function you use (windlass or thruster) on the transmitter, and check everything works after wiring.
| Receiver terminal | Connection |
|---|---|
| 1 (A2) | − battery |
| 2 (A1) | + battery via switch |
| 3 (C1) | Common, via a 3 A fuse |
| 4 (B2) | OUT1 |
| 5 (B3) | OUT2 |
Each relay output has a common contact: connect the common to the positive or negative pole according to the polarity of the load (the windlass control box). Protect it with a 3 A fuse against short circuit.
Operation & Pairing
Using It
- Press ON for about 2 seconds: the LED flashes while idle and stays on while a button is pressed.
- Releasing a button stops the manoeuvre. Switching Up to Down (or Left to Right) has a fixed 1.5 sec. delay.
- The transmitter switches off 120 seconds after the last command.
- On power-up the receiver's green LINE LED comes on; a yellow LED lights for each output when its button is pressed.
Pairing a New Transmitter
- Power the receiver: the green LINE LED comes on and, 1 sec. later, the red programming LED, which stays on for about 15 sec. While it is on, turn the new transmitter on with ON.
- Hold UP (left button).
- Press PROG on the receiver.
- Release UP.
- The LED blinks four times and goes out: the transmitter is stored. Check it works.
- The receiver stores up to 5 transmitters; a sixth replaces the first one stored.
- To add a transmitter to a unit already in use: power the receiver, press and hold PROG until the red LED comes on, release, then follow the steps above.
Batteries & External Antenna
- Batteries: undo the 8 screws on the back, fit 1.5V AAA alkaline batteries only, observe polarity (reversed batteries do no damage but the unit will not work), refit the cover and the 8 screws.
- External antenna: drill a 5 mm hole in the lower part of the receiver, right of the cable entry (12.5 and 15 from the edges on the drawing); remove the internal antenna from the terminal board; connect the cable shield to the right contact and the signal wire to the left; close the receiver and fix the antenna with the flat washer and nut supplied.
Warranty: 3 years.
