  • Nominal power (S2, 11 minutes): 500W 12V or 700W 12/24V. Motor IP 66.
  • Chromed bronze finish, nickeled chain gipsy, rope and chain management, AISI 431 stainless main shaft, drum independent from the gipsy.
  • Haulage speed 14 to 18 m/min. Current draw 40 – 60 A (500W 12V), 50 – 70 A (700W 12V).
  • Max pull approx. 500 kg (500W) / 700 kg (700W). Weight 11 kg.
  • Increase cable size when positive plus negative runs exceed 25 m. Use tinned marine copper wire. Wire all switches in parallel; fit at least two.

Installation

  • Gipsy in line with the bow roller; the chain may come from the roller at up to 5 degrees.
  • Deck flat and strong enough for the pull; add a backing pad if needed.
  • Mount directly above the deepest part of the chain locker, with at least 12" between deck underside and the top of the heaped chain.
  • Drill from the template; dress the forward edge of the chain hole at 45°, sand and seal. Fit the supplied deck gasket.
  • Loosen the 4 nuts (227) to separate topworks from gearbox and motor, set the topworks on deck, then join the gearbox by engaging the main-shaft key (224).
  • Fit washer, lock washer and nut on the studs and tighten. Recheck the nuts after first use.

Test & Wiring

  • Never run the windlass without rope/chain in the gipsy: it damages the finger (905).
  • Press UP to recover, DOWN to release. Wrong direction: swap the UP and DOWN wires at the control box.
  • Wiring diagram E0015 covers the 2-terminal motor with control box 61040012CB / 61040024CB.

Deck Template

The supplied template marks the four 9 mm (3/8") stud holes, the cut-outs, the chain line and the forward direction.

Print the template PDF at 100% (1:1). The drawing warns it may not be to scale once printed: measure the printed dimensions before drilling.
