Plug Assembly
- Slide the grommet nut onto the cable.
- Slide on the cable outlet gasket that suits the cable diameter (Tab.1).
- Slide on the cap.
- Solder the conductors into the plug contact bushes.
- Screw the cap onto the plug contact fitting (use the socket as a tool to tighten it).
- Seat the cable gasket inside the cap.
- Tighten the grommet nut onto the cap.
Fitting the Socket
- Within easy reach; clean, smooth, flat surface; rear access for installation and cable routing; back of the socket away from water and humidity. Do not weaken the boat's structure when drilling.
- Place the drill template and mark the hole centres.
- Cut the cable hole with a milling cutter; remove the template and any splinters.
- Fit the gasket-protective cap on the socket base and pass the cable through.
- Solder the conductors to the socket bushes (supply disconnected).
- Fix the socket with the 4 screws; check all connections before powering up.
Connecting and Disconnecting
- Connect: unscrew the protective cap ring-nut anticlockwise and remove it, insert the plug the right way round, turn the plug ring-nut clockwise until fully closed.
- Disconnect: turn the plug ring-nut anticlockwise until fully open, remove the plug, refit the protective cap turning its ring-nut clockwise.
- Never connect or disconnect with current flowing through the contacts, and always cap the socket when the plug is out.
