Supplied: QNN gateway, power supply cable, QR code sheet and warranty. For fixed indoor installation; the devices to be controlled must already be installed and powered.
Mounting
- Room for the wiring and easy access for maintenance and updates; clean, smooth, flat surface. Horizontal or vertical (on a bulkhead mind the cable direction).
- At least 25 cm from the compass, 50 cm from radio receivers, 1 m from radio transmitters (2 m from SSB) and 2 m from the radar beam.
- Mark the holes, pre-drill Ø 2.5 mm for the self-tapping screws, start the screws, slide the gateway so the screws sit in the slots and tighten all 4 (torque depends on the panel).
Ports
| Port | Connects |
|---|---|
| CAN-0 | PCS system (windlass, thrusters) at 250 Kbps via NCG-W / NCG-T |
| CAN-1 | CHC chain counters, SBC NRG+ chargers, HSI inverters at 125 Kbps |
| ETH-0 | Multifunction display (MFD) |
| ETH-1 | MC2 Quick Gyro remote control |
| PWR/SER | Power supply and Modbus (LDIM lighting) |
| USB | Software upgrade, settings backup |
| LED | State |
|---|---|
| POWER off / on | No power / operating, last operation OK |
| POWER slow / quick flash | Error in last operation / operation in progress |
| ETH green and red off | No connection |
| ETH green flashing, red steady | Connected |
Device Requirements
- Windlass via PCS: NCG-W gateway, version 62.37 or higher; one or two windlasses. Via CHC chain counter (on/off): CAN-1 at 125Kbps, one windlass only. CHC 1103 cannot be the only chain counter (needs a QNC CHC or other MASTER); CHC 1103 B can.
- Thrusters: PCS with NCG-T gateway, version 60.37 or higher, and at least one Quick control. PCS controls have priority; the QNN works only when they are disabled.
- Gyro: MC2 Quick Gyro remote panels on ETH-1. Chargers: SBC NRG+ Medium and High Power only, single or parallel, CAN-1 at 125 Kbps. Inverters: all HSI HR and LR, single or parallel.
- Lighting: up to 20 LDIM RGBW 4CH dimmers (max 75W @ 12V – 150W @ 24V per channel), supply 10÷30 Vdc.
- CAN branch drops shown as maximum 5 m in the diagrams.

Compatible MFDs must support HTML5 (OneHelm on Garmin): the manual lists models from Simrad, B&G, Lowrance, Garmin, Raymarine and Furuno.
Pages on the MFD
- First start: the QNN icon appears on the MFD home page (on some MFDs create the link manually); "NO HARDWARE DETECTED" shows for a few seconds before the home page.
- Home: connected devices active, others greyed. Setup: login (Quick technicians), units INT or US/UK, clear device list, save/load settings to a FAT32 USB stick via the USB adapter.
- Anchoring: hold red to raise, green to drop (A left / B right windlass); hold ZERO 5 seconds to reset the chain count; set total chain length and time-out (default 10 minutes); warping mode with PCS only.
- Thrusters: proportional keys 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%, one thruster at a time; manoeuvring keys act for 5 seconds then stop even if held.
- Gyro: on/off, speed, precession and angle (not on X2 and X3). Chargers: voltages, current, status, output and Energy Saving. Inverter: status, voltages, output power, ON/LP and ON/STAND BY.
- Lighting: up to 10 rooms and 12 zones per room; RGB, dynamic white, monochromatic and cold white – blue sources; hold POWER 100% for 2 seconds for all zones full on.
Troubleshooting & Care
- The QNN does NOT replace the dedicated Quick control panels: if it misbehaves, use each product's own panel.
- Display errors or crashes: Setup > Clear device list, then switch the gateway off and on; if it persists contact Quick service.
- Alarms page: active alarms with state, time and description, plus history (default period 5 Min).
- No special maintenance: check cables and connections yearly; clean with a soft cloth moistened with water, no chemicals. Do not remove the hazard labels; dispose of the internal battery per local rules.
