  • 3 outputs (4); three-stage IUoU; supply 264 ÷ 83 Vac with power reduction under 108 Vac; rated 120 - 240 Vac; 45÷66 Hz; power factor 1,00.
  • Operating –15 ÷ +70 °C, linear power reduction over +50 °C; forced cooling, variable fan speed; humidity max. 95% without condensation; aluminium case 170 x 391 x 82mm; 3,1 kg.
  • Protections: reverse polarity (through fuse), overload, output short circuit, output overvoltage (8), overheating, battery overtemperature (optional). CAN bus. Charge compensation: 1 sensor supplied, up to 128 sensors.
  • EN 60335-2-29; EN 55032/A – FCC Title 47 Part 15 Subpart B Class A.
  • (1) Max at normal use or short circuit. (2) No AC, monitor mode off, no LCD. (3) At 50% load, resistive. (4) Each output can give full current; the sum cannot exceed the rating. (5) At 230 Vac, full output. (6) At 120 Vac, full output. (8) Software/hardware double-check.

Our store lists the 700 as "SBC 700 Nrg Battery Charger Fr – 12V – 60 Amp".

Location & Supply

  • As close to the batteries as possible, dry and airy; horizontal or vertical with the output connector facing down (vertical preferred); 5 cm clearance all round (excluding the base). Units in parallel side by side.
  • Output wires max 4 meters. 6 cells (12 V) or 12 cells (24 V).
  • Rechargeable lead (open or sealed), Gel, AGM, Optima® and Li-Ion batteries only.
  • AC cord supplied: brown/black 1 live, blue/black 2 neutral, yellow-green earth. Fit an overvoltage category III switch for on/off only; check the rating label matches the mains; wire to local codes.
  • Disconnect AC (bipolar switch) and the batteries (isolator) before touching the DC terminals. A damaged AC cord must be replaced by a Quick service centre.
  • Batteries gas while charging: ventilate the battery area, no sparks or naked flames. Check polarity before connecting: reversal can seriously damage the charger even though it is fused.
  • Battery positive to an output positive, negative to the charger negative, with the supplied terminals. With one or two banks always use MASTER (main output), ideally for the most-used (service) bank. Leave unused outputs free: never bridge them.

CAN IN / CAN OUT (RJ45)

Pin CAN IN CAN OUT
1 CANL CANL
2 CANH CANH
3 Reserved Unconnected
4 Reserved Charger status (≈ +13,5 Vdc / 20 mA max)
5 Reserved Charger negative
6 Reserved Unconnected
7 Unconnected MASTER output voltage (100 mA limited)
8 CAN BUS terminator (120 ohm) CAN BUS terminator (120 ohm)
  • Pin 4 status: high impedance = off or manual-reset fault; ≈ + 13,6 Vdc = on with no manual-reset fault.
  • KTBRJ battery temperature sensor on the RJ11 socket (disabled automatically when a KTB4N interface is connected).
  • Battery selector (front panel, charger off): 0 EL open (factory), 1 EL sealed, 2 GEL, 3 AGM, 4 Optima®, 5 Li-Ion; 6–9 reserved.

LEDs & Charging

LED State Meaning
STATUS Off / green / orange / red No mains or active error / FLOAT / ABSORPTION / BULK
STATUS Quick / slow flash Power reduction / charge compensation
STATUS Short green pulse / green pulse Monitor mode / stand-by
ERROR Off / flashing / red No problem / manual-reset problem / automatic-reset problem
OUT CURRENT Green, orange, orange, red >2%, >25%, >50%, >75% of max current
  • BULK: constant current at the maximum (or reduced) rating, at start-up, with flat batteries or a heavy load.
  • ABSORPTION: constant voltage while the current drawn is above the ABSORPTION–FLOAT threshold (20% of maximum output current).
  • FLOAT: maintenance voltage once the current falls below the threshold; batteries can stay on charge without overcharging.

Fault Codes (ERROR LED flashes)

Flashes Problem Action
1 Output short circuit or overload (auto reset) Check output wiring, battery bank and loads
2 Output fuse open (likely reversed battery polarity) Quick service center
3 Output overvoltage Quick service center
5 Extended output overload Check battery bank and loads
6 Both fans blocked Quick service center
9 Two chargers in a group with the same priority Check group and priority with the RDS 1562
10 Both internal temperature sensors faulty Quick service center
11 BULK phase over 8 hours (default) Check batteries and loads
12 ABSORPTION phase over 24 hours (default); output held at FLOAT Check batteries and loads
  • Manual reset: remove the cause, disconnect AC for 10 seconds, reconnect.
  • Automatic-reset problems (red ERROR LED): over temperature, blocked fan, AC low (below 108 Vac: output limited to 70%), AC fail (below 83 Vac: output suspended), cold battery (< –15°C), hot battery (> +50°C), sensor fault, CAN error.
  • Maintenance: none; check cables and connections once a year.
