- Protections: reverse input polarity (through fuse), reverse output polarity (through diode), overload, output short circuit, output overvoltage (through zener diode), overheating; battery protection against excessive discharge.
- (1) Continuous operation. (2) Intermittent: 1 min on, 1 min off at 20 °C ambient.
Location & Sizing
- Fixed indoor installation in a dry, ventilated place; horizontal or vertical with cables exiting downwards (vertical recommended for cooling).
- At least 5 cm between the unit (except its base) and walls or objects; the base must withstand 80°C (at 40°C ambient). The case is the heat sink and can get very hot.
- Battery 24 V, recommended capacity >120 Ah; minimum output cable 10 mm2 (size for the run length); insulated female Faston 6,3 x 0,8 terminals.
- Output fuse: the English table gives 30 A FAST, the German table 6 A FAST (x3) (as printed); check your unit's label.
Wiring & Use
- 24 V battery to IN, 12 V equipment to OUT through the fuse (Fig. 1); check input and output polarity, cables not live while connecting.
- Undersized cables or poor joints can overheat dangerously. Wire to local electrical codes.
- POWER switch turns the unit on and off. In a fault the output is cut and restored automatically once conditions are normal (no overload, temperature and battery voltage correct).
- Maintenance: none; check cables and connections once a year. Opening by unauthorised personnel voids the warranty.
| LED | Colour | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| OUT | Off | No output voltage: unit off or in protection |
| OUT | Green | Power on |
| TEST | Off | Unit off |
| TEST | Green | No faults during operation |
| TEST | Red | Protection for over temperature or low input voltage: check output wiring and loads, installation and the input battery bank |
TEST red with OUT green means a fault occurred and has cleared: switch the unit off and on again.
