Setting the Time

  1. Pull the crown out to the second click when the small second hand is at the 12 o'clock position.
  2. Turn to set the hour and minute hands.
  3. Push the crown back into the normal position to synchronise with official time.
  • If the stopwatch/timer is running when the crown is pulled to the second click, it keeps running.
  • The 24-hour hand is synchronised with the hour hand: use it as the AM/PM indicator (the date changes at midnight).
  • Set the minute hand 4 to 5 minutes past the desired time, then turn it back to the exact minute.

Setting the Date

  1. Pull the crown out to the first click.
  2. Turn anticlockwise to the desired date.
  3. Push the crown back into the normal position.
  • Always set the date after the time is correctly set.
  • Adjust the date manually on the first day after a month with less than 31 days: February, April, June, September and November.

Stopwatch & 5 Minute Timer

Button A is the upper pusher, button B the lower pusher. The stopwatch minute and second hands are the small chronograph hands.

Measurement Sequence
Standard A start → A stop → B reset
Accumulated elapsed time A start → A stop → A restart → A stop → B reset (restart/stop can be repeated with A)
Split time A start → B split → B split release → A stop → B reset (split/release can be repeated with B)
Two competitors A start → B finish time of 1st competitor → A 2nd competitor finishes → B finish time of 2nd competitor → B reset
  • Reset: while the hands are moving, press A to stop and B to reset; while stopped, press B to reset.
  • Timer: the stopwatch doubles as a 5 minute countdown timer on the minute and second chronograph hands. It starts at minus 5, counts down to zero, then counts up to 5 minutes elapsed. A start → A stop → B reset. Use it as a guide to a standard ISAF 5 minute start sequence.

Battery

  • 1x SR920SW, to be replaced by a qualified watchmaker.
  • Lasts approximately 3 years, but the battery is fitted at the factory for testing, so the remaining life when you receive the watch may be shorter. Replace it as soon as possible when it expires.
  • Keep a removed battery out of reach of children; if swallowed, consult a doctor immediately. Never short-circuit, heat, recharge or expose it to fire.

Care & Warranty

  • Rinse with fresh water after use in salt water.
  • Use only to the rated water resistant depth, and do not operate the buttons while submerged.
  • Avoid chemicals, sunscreens, lubricants, solvents, paint; avoid dropping it. Do not open the watch.
  • Ronstan warrants ClearStart™ watches against defects in materials or workmanship for one (1) year from purchase by the original purchaser; keep your receipt and note the serial number on the watch back.
