Cutting and assembling a Selden aluminium gennaker bowsprit kit (G072 to G120) and fitting the 90° bow ring bracket.

Selden Aluminium Bowsprit Kit — Instructions

Parts Included

  • Extrusion with outboard end fitted
  • Inboard end
  • Fasteners
  • Pad eyes (screw M6 not incl.)

Tools Required

  • Saw, drill, Ø 6.5 mm drill bit
  • Torx screwdriver, hammer, pop rivet gun

Assembly

  1. Find the correct length (DBS + USL). When in doubt, contact your dealer.
  2. Mark the extrusion length using table 1 (a paper wrapped round the tube gives a square line) and cut.
  3. Mark the rivet holes per table 1, drill Ø 6.5 mm.
  4. Fit the inboard end with pop-rivets and punch out the mandrel heads.

POA = overall length, XL = extrusion length. Rivet hole layout differs between 72/72 & 99/99 and 75/75 & 87/87 (figs. 2 and 3 in the PDF).

Bow Ring Bracket -90° (595-639-E)

Bracket bolted with 4 x M8. The sheet shows two correct mountings and crosses out two incorrect ones – check the drawing before fitting.
