Fitting Procedure

  1. Remove the hook from the plate and give the plate a corrosion protection coat.
  2. Place the plate centrally on the front line of the mast at the correct level, shorter side down. Using the plate as a jig, drill for the pop rivets (Ø 4,9 mm for O:22, Ø 6.5 mm for O:35 and O:50).
  3. Fit the 4/6 rivets.
  4. Through the plate, drill the mast wall at the upper and lower edge of the oval holes (Ø 8,0 mm for O:22, Ø 10 mm for O:35 and O:50).
  5. Saw out the mast wall between the holes along the straight parts of the oval; file the edges.
  6. Fit the hook into the slot, threaded-hole end first into the upper part of the slot.
  7. Remove remaining rivet mandrels.
  8. Feed the stay's terminal eye onto the hook and refit the hook as in step 6.
  9. Fix the hook with the screw and washer.

The O-ring stops the hook being lost inside the mast.

Older Sheet: Forestay Fitting "0.35" (595-040-E)

Same procedure for the earlier 0.35 fitting: 4 pop rivets (Ø6.4x12.7) drilled 6.5 mm through the plate, 10 mm drill for the slot ends, International "Intersurf" recommended as the corrosion coat on the plate.
