Adaptor Plate Kits

The kit includes the plate, threaded for the S-winch, and fasteners for the winch. Countersunk fasteners for fixing the plate to the boat are supplied by the installer – make sure they handle the winch loads.

Installation

1. Transfer the existing hole pattern to the plate, either by matching the old winch's drive gear to the S-winch drive gear position on the plate, or by fitting the S-winch to the plate in place and marking from below deck through the existing holes. Keep the marks clear of the threaded holes; check the drive gear orientation per S-winch manual 597-489.
2. Remove the winch, drill the plate and countersink the holes on top so the fasteners sit below the plate surface.
3. Countersink the holes in the boat for a better seal. Apply a corrosion inhibitor between fastener heads and the aluminium; seal round the fasteners with a non-hardening compound (e.g. Butyl), no glue. Fasten the plate.
4. Attach the winch with the supplied fasteners (anti-seize can be used). No sealant is required between winch and plate.
