Selden Deck Hardware Soft Attachment — Instructions

Lashing with a Knot

  1. Thread the line through the rivet, up through the head, around the attachment point and back down.
  2. Lash with two wraps and secure with a carrick knot: thread as shown, leave enough line at the loose ends, pull tight.

Always lash through the rivet AND the head of the block. Lashing through the head only is not strong enough.

Insert with Loop

  1. Put the loop round the insert, pull it through the head, around the attachment point and back down.
  2. Put the other end of the loop round the insert and push the insert back into the centre of the rivet.

Large-diameter attachment points: cross-lash the rope (knot method), or cross the loop as it comes down through the head and thread it between the previous wrap (loop method).

RBB60/80/100/130 Soft Attachment (597-886-E)

The roller bearing blocks take a spliced line or a line with a knot:

  1. Pass the line through the central hole in the block.
  2. Splice or tie a secure knot.

To stop the block rotating around the line, secure it with a thin locking line:

  1. Thread the locking line through the holes at the top of the block and around the main line.
  2. Make 2-3 turns.
  3. Tighten gently – do not overtighten.
