Single Track

  1. Mast A-line up; mark the height (Ref. point) and draw a line square to the A-line.
  2. Tape the track with its upper end on the Ref. point, centred on the A-line (do not cover pre-drilled holes). If it passes cast spreader brackets, see bedding (right).
  3. Drill the top hole-pair Ø 4,9 mm or Ø 6,5 mm (by rivet type) and plug with rivets; continue every four or five pairs, then drill the rest.
  4. Remove, clean, file the ends; refit and rivet; punch out the mandrels.
  5. Rivet the upper end stop (washer 164-002 under it for 25mm/R34 track). Lower end stop (RCB 30W with buffer 520-516): drill Ø 4,9 mm, tap M6, fix with the car on the track.

Bedding & Reinforcement

  • RCB 30W over a spreader bracket: cut the track 3-4 mm each side of the bracket leaving min. 15mm of track height, and bed it on both sides.
  • Furling masts with the spreader bracket redrawn from end of 2008 need no bedding.
  • Double fastening (D): one extra rivet between the originals up to 3000 mm from the end of extrusion / top of coat.
  • Triple fastening (T): two extra rivets between the originals over the same length.
  • Joining two tracks (Bav 50): shorter piece on top, exactly in line, join edges ground.

Column headings follow the sheet: H1 length of track, H2 Ref. point, H3 block, H4 cleat, H5 support, H6 hoop. (D) double and (T) triple fastening.

Cleat

  1. Mark height H4 and the side offset (A / 40 mm or 50mm).
  2. Use the cleat as a template for the lower hole.
  3. Drill both holes Ø 4,9 mm, enlarge to Ø 6,5 mm, fix with long rivets (long-nozzle rivet gun), punch out the mandrels.

Hoop + Support 508-090-02 / 508-212-02

  • Hoop at H6, offset from the B-line; drill Ø 6,5 mm, nylon washers between hoop and mast, rivet. Bend the hoop ends in a vice to fit the section if needed.
  • Support on the A-line, upper hole at H5: mark with washer 164-408, drill Ø 4,9 mm, enlarge to Ø 6,8 mm, tap M8; fit with the washer and thread lubricant.
  • 508-212-02 hoop/bracket: insulating lacquer on the bracket back first; on larger masts set the radius with temporary M6 screws in the two middle holes before riveting.
