Tie-Rod Rigging Screws, Art. No. 174-042-03
- Designed only to take the lifting forces on the deck ring from halyards, reef lines etc. led aft via turning blocks attached to the deck ring.
- NOT designed to take the lifting forces on the deck created by the "compression" force from the lower shrouds.
- For yachts larger than LOA 32-35 feet, both static and fatigue loads exceed the capacity of the screws.
- If the mast/chain plates are a distance from the main bulkhead, the hull must have a structure connecting the deck and the keelson.
