Selden Wire Terminal and Rigging Screw Assembly — Instructions

Instructions for Fitting the Wire Terminal

Apply locking adhesive to the socket threads the first time the terminal is screwed together to form the outer strands: it lubricates and reduces the risk of the threads seizing.

  1. Tap the socket down over the wedge/wire and bend the outer strands in – this reduces the load on the first threads.
  2. Apply locking adhesive liberally to all socket threads and screw the parts together, forcing the outer strands further into the terminal. Screw the socket straight into the terminal part.
  3. Unscrew and check that the strands lie correctly.
  4. Apply locking adhesive to the socket threads once more and screw the terminal together permanently.
