Sizes and Approvals
| Size | Wearer weight | Chest | Actual buoyancy |
|---|---|---|---|
| INFANT | < 15kg | 40 - 50cm | 45N |
| CHILD | 15 - 30kg | 45 - 60cm | 60N |
- Conforms to ISO 12402-3 : 2020 as a 150N lifejacket for in-water performance; integrated deck safety harness to ISO 12401 : 2009.
- Buoyancy comes from inherently buoyant material: fully automatic, no intervention required from the wearer.
- The harness is suitable for a wearer of less than 30 kg.
- For children less than 6 years of age use automatically operating devices only or inherently buoyant PFDs.
- Use only between -30° C and +60° C.
Features
- Front grab handle and lifting loop for adults to lift the child to safety (hand only – not a harness attachment point).
- Rear deck harness point for the safety line: clip or cow-hitch.
- Protective collar to keep the head supported in the water; soft neoprene neck panel.
- Zip and buckle closure; easy attach-and-adjust buckle; webbing belt end tidy.
- Padded leg (crotch) strap to hold the lifejacket in place in the water.
- Reflective panels; colour panels reversed between sizes for identification; whistle.
Fitting
- Put on as a jacket, placing the arms through the sides, then close the zip.
- Feed the metal buckle through the base plate and pull the webbing tight.
- Pull the belt webbing tight and roll the remainder up to secure it in the retainer.
- Pass the crotch strap through the legs, fasten the buckle and pull the webbing tight.
Children should be supervised to make sure the jacket stays correctly fitted. If it is not fitted correctly it cannot work as a lifejacket or harness.
Using the Lifejacket and Harness
- Only for use under the direct and visual control of a competent and responsible person.
- Use with an approved personal safety line only, with no sharp edges at the attachment point. Attach to jack lines or fixed eyes able to withstand more than 1 tonne; never to lifelines, standing or running rigging.
- The harness must be worn tight to be effective; it prevents falling overboard but gives no protection against falls from height.
- Do not use diapers that provide buoyancy with the lifejacket if the child is under 15kg.
- Teach your child to float in the lifejacket and let them try it before use. Not for white water rafting or personal watercraft.
- After a major fall do not continue to use the product.
Maintenance, Care and Lifetime
- During use check buckles and fastenings regularly; before and after use examine for damage, abrasion, wear, tear or contamination, especially stitching and webbing.
- Clean by hand, rinse in fresh water (maximum 30° C), dry in a cool, ventilated dark room; store in a well ventilated place away from direct light and extreme temperatures.
- Lifetime = shelf life + useful life: shelf life up to 5 years before first use; after first use the product should last 5 years.
- Spinlock warranty: five years.
- Report any contact with chemicals (petrol, battery acid, solvents) to Spinlock, stating the chemical.
