Mounting the Load Cell

  • Works between any deck eye, pad eye, strong point, traveller car and block. Connect in line to calibrate other load cells or pins.
  • Use a ZS-LOOP (or equivalent) in a "basket" formation, or tie directly to sheets or halyards with one complete turn around the end eye and a bowline.
  • With a ZS/OPEN mobile jammer linked by a ZS-LOOP it measures the load in any line.
  • The cell shows a continuous TRACKING load and a PEAK load with a time reference.

Digital (LDS)

  • Power: hold both buttons until the screen comes on; it reads load instantly, no need to unload. Turn off with POWER OFF in the menu.
  • Menu: MENU/ENTER shows the menu, ^v scrolls, MENU/ENTER selects, BACK returns to the read-out.
  • In POWER SAVE the cell keeps measuring and saves the peak load; press any button to wake the screen.
  • Max battery life: SCREEN SAVER "1 minute", BRIGHTNESS "low", BLUE font (50 to 1000 hours depending on settings).

Wireless (LWS) – Spinlock LW App

  1. Download the "Spinlock LW" app (Play Store or Apple Store).
  2. With batteries in the cell, search for Bluetooth devices.
  3. Mount the cell, open the app: cells in range appear instantly.
  4. Tap "COG" for settings: record data, device ID, description, tare, date/time, reset peak, upper and lower limit alarms.
  5. Tap the load number to load the graph; RECORD to log, STOP when done.
  6. MY DATA: name the file, add notes and pictures, view, email, delete, or insert up to 3 images.
  • If the screen turns RED in any mode the cell has had a significant overload and needs re-calibration.
  • Overloading 200% of SWL will result in permanent damage to the load cell.
  • A calibration certificate is issued with the product, valid for 12 months; the unit must be returned to Spinlock for re-calibration.
  • Do not store with batteries inserted: leakage can cause unrepairable damage.
  • Battery change: unscrew the 4 stainless bolts with a 2mm hex key, lift the cover without disturbing the seal, observe polarity, check the O-ring seal is seated and re-lubricate if dry. Tighten evenly to 0.5Nm – do not over-tighten. A failed seal lets water in and is not covered under warranty.
