General understanding of CAN-bus systems and knowledge of J1939, NMEA2000 and V-CAN is required; improper installation causes system failures.

Mounting and Connectors

  • IP67 housing (dust tight, protected against immersion): any mounting position, damp locations allowed.
  • Withstands up to 90°C (194°F): keep it away from heat sources and hotter compartments.
  • Overall dimensions 80 (3 1/8") × 50 (1 15/16") × 36 (1 7/16") mm.
  • CAN A = NMEA2000 / J1939 connector; CAN B = V-CAN connector, via the supplied adapter cable part 19-7991.

LEDs

  • Per connector: green LED = data transmission, orange LED = data reception.
  • L1 (heartbeat, blue) flashes when the device is on; L2 and L3 not in use.
  • PWR (red) is on when supply voltage is present.

Dipswitch Settings

Switch Function
1 Reverses the port side gearbox rotation direction command
2 Reverses the starboard side gearbox rotation direction command
3 Reverses the bow thruster rotation direction command
4 Reverses the stern thruster rotation direction command

Dipswitches only affect CANV2N1, CANV2N2 and CANV2Y2; remove the protective cover first. Switches 1–2 let the control lever be mounted port or starboard; 3–4 correct thruster direction to match the thruster panel settings.
