Install in a dry, well-ventilated space, never outside. Check the supply voltage (12 or 24 Volt) before connecting.

Mounting

  • Position the unit so the rudder shaft and the feedback unit axis rotate in the same direction.
  • The unit arm must follow the tiller closely; unit arm and tiller move in unison.
  • Distance H (rudder shaft centre to tiller connection) must equal the distance from the unit centre to its arm connection.
  • Choose R to suit the space available, preferably as long as possible.
  • Fix with the screws supplied.
  • Wire the supply as the diagram and run a cable from the feedback unit to each instrument (wiring: sensor signal, red light, yellow light).

Centring the Axis

  1. Switch on the supply to feedback unit and gauge.
  2. Put the rudder in the middle position.
  3. Slightly loosen the three screws.
  4. Gently rotate the unit left or right until the gauge reads neutral.
  5. Tighten the screws. One global setting is enough; each gauge can be fine-adjusted individually.
  6. Move the rudder and check the port-to-starboard indication is correct.
