Vetus Bow & Stern Thruster Control Panels BPAJ, BPAS, BPJR(C), BPSR(C) — User Manual

Use

• Be careful: with 2 control panels installed, never operate the bow thruster from both panels at the same time.
• Switch on the main switch, then press the on/off switch twice: after the first press the LED flashes blue and the buzzer sounds continuously; press again within 6 seconds. The LED stays blue and the buzzer gives (- . -).
• The motor runs on the direction switch. Changing from port to starboard (or back) in one movement gives a delay of about 1.5 seconds so the motor stops before reversing.
• Operating a direction switch for more than 2 minutes at a time switches the motor off: a warning (. - . . -) sounds while the switch is held and the LED flashes red for 5 seconds. Release it; once the LED is back to blue the motor can run again.
• Switch off: press on/off once after use; the panel sounds (. . . - . -). Switch off the main switch when leaving the ship.

Automatic Switch-Off and Protection

• Standard setting: the panel switches itself off 30 minutes after the direction switch was last used; this can be switched off (the panel then only switches off with the on/off button) and on again.
• To change it: switch off the thruster power supply (battery main switch), hold the direction switch (or both) to starboard, switch the power back on and watch the LED(s): RED = automatic switch-off now OFF, BLUE = automatic switch-off now ON. Release the switch(es); the setting is kept when the power is switched off.
• Thermal protection of the control current: on overload the panel sounds ( . - . . - ) once and the LED alternates red and blue for about 7 seconds; once the overload is solved the system works normally again.

Overall Dimensions

BPAJ / BPAS drill pattern (scale 1:1): ø 52 mm (2 1/16") hole, plate 97 × 94.5 mm. Print at 100% and check the dimensions before drilling.
