Receiver

Item Value
Power supply 8 VDC to 30 VDC
Maximum current (per output) 8 A (at 30 Volts DC)
Protection class IP40
Frequency 433.92 Hz (as printed)
Temperature range 0°C – 70°C (+32°F – 158°F)
Weight 800 g (28 oz)
Dimensions WRCBS 208 × 124 × 50 mm (8 3/16" × 4 7/8" × 1 15/16"); fixing slots 6 × 11 mm on 191 × 78 mm

Fitting

  • Always disconnect the electrical supply during installation and maintenance of the thrusters.
  • Place the receiver as far as possible from large metal objects and electric motors; connect it as in the wiring diagrams. The red and green LEDs light briefly at power-up.
  • Install the antenna for good reception, fit the transmitter battery, pair the remote, check operation and change the thrust direction if necessary.
  • CAN control is only for Vetus V-CAN controlled thrusters: a BOW PRO thruster must be connected through the CAN bus instead of relays. The CAN bus is a chain: connect the power supply and place a terminating resistor at both ends.
  • Relay wiring colour code: 1 blue, 2 red (+), 3 black (-), 4 white.

Pairing a Transmitter

  1. With the receiver powered, press and hold ON on the new transmitter for about 2 seconds.
  2. Press and hold PROG on the receiver until the red LED lights (4 sec.).
  3. On the new transmitter press any key and hold it until the red LED on the receiver flashes; wait for the red LED to go out before use.

A maximum of 5 transmitters per receiver; adding a 6th deletes the 1st from the receiver memory.

Reversing the Thrust Direction

  • Hold PROG until the red LED lights (4 sec.), keep holding until yellow LED 1 or 2 blinks: bow thruster set-up. LED 1 = standard direction, LED 2 = reversed; a short press on PROG toggles.
  • Hold PROG again (4 sec.) until yellow LED 3 or 4 blinks: stern thruster set-up. LED 3 = standard, LED 4 = reversed; a short press toggles.
  • Wait 10 seconds (or hold PROG 4 sec.) to leave set-up mode.

Using the Remote

  • Hold ON on the transmitter for 2 seconds; its LED flashes and it is ready. With CAN control, press ON to take or recover control; the green receiver LED shows it is ready.
  • The 4 keys run bow and stern thrusters individually or together; the blue transmitter LED stays on while a key is pressed.
  • Maximum distance transmitter–receiver: 15 metres (50 ft).
  • DC thrusters with relay control: about 1.5 seconds delay when switching between port and starboard.
  • The transmitter switches off after about 5 minutes unused; after 10 minutes unused the receiver switches the thrusters off and goes to standby.
  • Battery: remove both stainless clamps and the rear housing, lift out the circuit and replace the CR2032.

Receiver LEDs (CAN)

LED Meaning
Green and red blinking Communication lost with a CAN thruster (the other one can still be used); press ON to clear once restored
Green double blink Control taken by another panel; press ON to recover
Yellow 1 Bow thruster overheat
Yellow 2 Bow thruster low voltage
Yellow 1 + 2 Bow thruster overload
Yellow 3 Stern thruster overheat
Yellow 4 Stern thruster low voltage
Yellow 3 + 4 Stern thruster overload

The OUT1–OUT4 LEDs show the relay outputs, not V-CAN commands.
