Dimension letters refer to the drawing in the PDF. Material: AISI 316L and 17-4PH stainless steel and elastomer.

  • Recommended for lifelines and harness anchorage points; they comply with EN 795: 2012 Type A for industrial use only and were tested under static and dynamic loads to that standard. Inspected by APAVE, an approved certification body.
  • Use with a safety harness (EN361), a fall arrest device (EN353/2) with energy absorber (EN355), and a means of limiting the maximum dynamic force on the user to 6 kN. Connect with an EN 362 connector.
  • One person per anchoring device. Personal equipment, assigned to a single user. Never use as lifting equipment.

Marking

  • Instructions-for-use symbol, certification and product type to the standard, 1 person per anchoring device, forged-part logo and manufacturer's name.
  • Traceability code: year of manufacture + month of manufacture (A = January, B = February…) + product reference (e.g. 22…66042).

Before Use

  • Only for people competent or expert in PPE and trained in the use of these products, in good physical and mental health. Read and understand the instructions and accept the risks; failure to do so could result in serious injury or death.
  • Check compatibility with the other components of the equipment, the product and its fasteners before each use, and define a rescue plan beforehand.
  • Check that all markings are legible, there are no knocks, deformation, cracks or significant wear, and the stirrup moves freely without forcing.
  • Never load the chainplate sideways. Avoid contact with steel parts (rust spots).
  • Take the product out of service after it has arrested a fall or suffered a major impact (even with no visible signs), if it fails inspection, if its full history is unknown or if in any doubt.

Installation

  • Fix to a flat, sound, fixed support with screws of the correct diameter and of a material compatible with the chainplate and the support, by a competent person or organisation.
  • The installer is responsible for the suitability of the support and its ability to withstand the EN 795: 2012 Type A test forces (12 kN minimum strength). Check the installation by calculation or testing; the maximum load transmitted to the structure is around 12 kN vertically.
  • Place the anchorage point preferably above the user, minimise fall distance, mark out fall clearance before each use, avoid pendulum falls and sharp edges.
  • If the marking is not accessible after installation, add markings near the anchor.
  • If resold in another country, the reseller must supply the instructions in the language of that country.

Inspection

  • Check the condition of each anchoring device before every use; discard it if worn.
  • Inspect regularly for corrosion, more often in a corrosive environment.
  • Thorough inspection by a competent inspector at least every 12 months; mark the device with the date of the next or last inspection and record it (an inspection follow-up sheet is in the PDF).
  • Do not repair or modify the anchoring device.

Maintenance & Storage

  • Clean with a non-abrasive accessory and mild soapy water, rinse thoroughly.
  • Keep away from concrete, asphalt, paint, acids, solvents and chemicals.
  • Store dry, ventilated, low humidity and salt-free, away from impacts and extreme temperatures; use the original packaging for storage and transport.
  • Guarantee: 2 years from delivery, excluding normal wear, oxidation, modifications, inappropriate storage, lack of maintenance, negligence or incorrect use.
