Winch Technical Infos (p.6)

  • Maximum force: with 70% efficiency and 30 kg on the handle, F = 20×P (kg), P being the winch power. Example: power 50 → F = 20×50 = 1000 Kg.
  • Recovery speed: S = 1600/P (mm per 360° turn of the handle). Example: power 50 → S = 1600/50 = 32 mm.
  • Mounting: line lead angle onto the drum between 2 and 10 degrees; on 2-speed models position the output gear at 90° to the pull direction as shown in the catalogue.
  • Self-tailing: spring-loaded disks adapt to the line; put three or four wraps on the drum, otherwise excess load on the self-tailing disks can make the line slip.
  • Maintenance: remove old grease with a solvent (e.g. diesel fuel), spread a thin layer of marine grease on all moving parts and on stainless screws, threads and washers. Antal uses Hydrolub (MOD. HDR), available in 150 gr tubes.
  • Spare parts: universal repair kit MOD. XTKIT for all winch types, with 4 pawls and 4 pawl springs.

  • XT62.3, XT66.3 and XT76.3: the push-button on the base starts the first (fastest) gear; second and third gears are selected by reversing the handle.
  • From size 40 the XT winches can be powered with electric or hydraulic motors (catalogue pp.16–21).
