What the Brochure Covers

Whisker Pole Type & Size

Heavier displacement or bowsprit type boats should consider using the next larger size pole.

Line Control model sizing

Line Control Models, Specs & End Fittings

• Three versions: aluminum (durable cruising), full carbon (white finish for UV protection) and 50/50 combo (carbon and aluminum).
• Length is adjusted from the mast end: un-cleat the line, pull the line to extend the pole, re-cleat the line. Never attempt to adjust while under load.
• The EL inboard end used on the LC 10-18 models is not sold separately. When selecting accessories, match the accessory size to the pole size.

Twist Lock and Velocity Poles

Small boat twist lock poles (Lexan end fittings, mast pad eye included)

Heavy duty telescoping twist lock poles

Twist lock poles are for boats under 28 ft. Use the small boat mast connection #400001 or #400002 with the heavy duty poles.

Velocity full carbon poles (2:1 line control, Ultra UXP ends)

The Velocity table prints part #800805 twice with crossed lengths: ask us to confirm the toggle-end Velocity model for your pole size.

Offshore spinnaker poles

All offshore poles require a T-125-S or T-150-A toggle TS style mast connection. No "standard" rigging is included.

Small boat pole kits and options

Pole length is set by the "J" measurement (front of mast at deck level to the headstay). For poles with TS & UTS end fittings on a T-125-S car, 5" is subtracted from the "J" dimension. Carbon fiber poles are also offered in straight and double tapered tubes (EZ Grip, high gloss or Awlgrip finish).

Pole End Fittings & Collars

• Ultra Series: maximum boat LOA outboard end 43', inboard end 36'; all larger boats use GP Series fittings. Ultra ends require a minimum 1.5" mast ring dia. or the warranty is voided.
• Grand Prix: UGPS for max boat length 60', GP for max boat length 75'. All Grand Prix poles are custom made.
• TS & UTS socket ends: for boats 50 to 70 feet; they lock onto the TS style mast toggle pin (T-125 or T-150 size connection).
• Ultra ends and collars come in gray or black (B suffix).

Mast Connections

• Pad eyes measure 2-3/4" x 2" with 1-5/8" inside ring diameter; PE-3SF for flat mast surfaces, PE-3SC slightly bent for a curved mast.
• Fixed mast FC mounts work with piston and trigger Ultra ends (UXP, UXTR, UTR); hinged bases adjust to masts from 2 1/2" to 5 1/2" wide; 7" long, 10 - ¼" staggered mounting holes, 5/16" round-head machine screws 3/4" long.
• T-track holes are spaced on 4" center; mount with 5/16" X 3/4" long flathead stainless machine screws.
• The standard toggle works with poles to 4-1/2" diameter.

Pole Storage, Reaching Struts & Repair Kits

Vertical storage requires a T-125 or FC-125 mast connection; Forespar does not recommend ANY ring style mast cars for vertical pole storage. Stanchion chocks mount onto 1" stanchions, two required per pole.

Reaching struts

Reaching struts are traditionally the same diameter as your spinnaker pole. Length: 1/2 the beam of the boat + 3 feet, or approximately 39% of the J measurement.
