Marelon vs PVC and Bronze
| Marelon | PVC | Bronze | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Suitable hull materials | All hull types | All hull types | Not for steel or aluminum hulls |
| Relative weight (1.5" ball valve seacock) | 1.48 lbs | 1.65 lbs | 6 lbs |
- Marelon is a marine-grade polymer composite: it never corrodes like bronze, needs no bonding wires, can be used with any hull material and is immune to lightning damage.
- Marelon products are ABYC compliant and can be used above and below the waterline; over 2400 valve configurations are available (as printed in this guide).
- The comparison chart also covers corrosion immunity, below-waterline suitability, the ABYC 500 lb. strength test, the USCG fire test and crack resistance (shown as tick marks in the PDF).
