  • Spinnaker pole length is determined by the yacht's "J" measurement: the straight line distance from the front of the mast at deck level to the headstay.
  • For poles with TS & UTS end fittings used on a T-125-S car, 5" is subtracted from the "J" dimension to establish pole length.
  • No "standard" bridle or topping lift rigging is included on the offshore poles.

Swivel sticks are for small boats (up to 22' maximum).

Marelon Plumbing: Thread Forms

  • Almost all Marelon valves, thru-hulls and fittings use NPSM parallel thread forms that need thread compound or Teflon tape to seal.
  • Two exceptions: the Marelon 93 Series comes with buttress threaded thru-hulls that mate to buttress threaded valves, and the HC Series reducing tailpipes use true NPT tapered threads.
  • Tapered industrial (NPT) fittings are not intended to be joined with parallel marine fittings.
  • American NPSM has a 60° thread flank angle with flat root and crest; British BSP has 55° with rounded root and crest.
  • If a thru-hull is to be installed less than 6"(152.4mm) above the waterline, a ball-valve or seacock must also be used.
