  • Steps: determine system size from this table (contact Harken if your sail area is larger), choose car options (car-mounted cleats, high-load coupled cars, windward sheeting, Ti-Lite), choose controls with the control block selection guides, then track and accessories (high-beam track spans unsupported areas).
  • Higher purchases are more powerful and easier to adjust under load; lower purchases are lighter and use less line. Stand-up toggles and ears hold the block upright and give fair control line leads.

  • Simple bend: track length of 2 m (6'6 3/4") or less and chord depth less than 200 mm (8"). Major bend: track length of 2.1 m or more, or chord depth of 200 mm (8") or more. Compound: bends in both planes (simple = both simple; major = one or both major).
  • To order give boat model, track and bend part numbers, chord length and chord depth (or radius) for each plane. If the bend is continuous add 2 to 4 inches (50 to 100 mm) to each end: track cannot be bent to its ends. Harken does not cut track to length.
  • The car length must suit the track radius (see each car page); if a long car will not ride the radius, use two short cars joined by a coupler. Standard Mini-Maxi and Maxi cars cannot ride vertical bends with a radius under 50 ft (15.25 m).
