Lewmar Hatch Spares: Match the Range, the Size Code and the Part
A Lewmar hatch is built to be serviced. When the lens has crazed, the seal has hardened or the lid will not stay up, the fix is usually one part, and every part in this collection is listed by range, size code and, where it matters, hardware generation — for example Low Profile Hatch Size 44, Seal Kit Spare or Medium Profile Hatch Size 60, Lid Assembly (MKII) for hatch with Friction Lever. A part seats and seals only when all three match. Complete hatches, with the deck cut-out in each title, are on the Lewmar hatches page.
Which Part Fixes What
- Seal kit: replaces the closing seal and nothing else, so it is the part for a hatch whose frame, hinges and lens are sound. Seal kits are listed for Low Profile (Sizes 00 to 65, plus the Bavaria shapes), Medium Profile (30 to 77), Ocean (10 to 77), Flush 2G (10 to 70), Coastline (03 to 65) and Pilot (Size 60).
- Acrylic & Seal: a new lens together with its seal. Low Profile sets are listed as MKI or MKII, Medium Profile as MKII. The title carries the lever or stay version ("for hatch with Friction Lever", "with Telescopic Stay", "with Vent Hole") and the tint: grey on most, with green, white or clear on some sizes. Example: Low Profile Size 44, Acrylic & Seal (MKII) with Friction Lever.
- Lid assembly: the complete lid, listed as MKII lids in grey for Low Profile and Medium Profile and as Smoke lids for Ocean, for example the Ocean Size 60 lid. The Low Profile Size 44 MKII lid listing states that the friction lever is not included, so order the Low Profile and Medium Profile friction lever with it if your hatch needs one.
- Frames: upper frames are listed for Low Profile and Medium Profile, and lower frames for Low Profile, Medium Profile, Ocean and Flush 2G Size 70. Ocean lower frames come as flange base, with a flat-base version listed for Size 30.
- Hinges, handles and catches: hinge kits for Ocean, Coastline and Flush 2G, the Low Profile friction hinge kit (Size 00, MKI and II), hinge caps, the Large Handle Kit (Pair) for Low Profile, Medium Profile and Ocean, Coastline friction lever and handle kits, and catch blocks.
- Trim and fly screens: three different parts. A Trim Kit comes complete with a fly screen that hinges down once you release two tabs (the Low Profile Size 60 trim kit, white); Trim Only is the plastic surround for an alloy-framed screen; Fly Screen Only is the alloy-framed mesh for a plastic trim you already have (the Size 44 fly screen). Ocean uses a combined Trimkit, and the Flyscreen Hinge Retro Kit adds the hinge to an older screen.
- Stays and security: the Hatch Stay Retro Fit Pack for a hatch that will not hold open, and the Hatch Lock & Key Kit.
Spares by Range
- Low Profile: the deepest range of spares, in MKI and MKII versions, with lids, acrylic and seal sets, frames, trim, fly screens and hinge parts. It also holds the Bavaria shapes: Large Square, Small Square, Rectangular, Round and D-Hatch.
- Medium Profile: seal kits, MKII lids, acrylic and seal sets and frames from Size 30 to Size 77.
- Ocean: seal kits, Smoke lids, hinge kits, lower frames and trimkits. If you are unsure whether your hatch is flange base or flat base, read flat base vs flange base before you order a frame.
- Flush 2G: seal kits for Sizes 10 to 70, lids in grey black or dark grey, side and front handles, the small lever and the Flush Hatch 2G Hinge Kit.
- Coastline: seal kits, friction lever kits, handle kits and the Size 18 hinge kit.
- Pilot: for the wheelhouse and cockpit hatches in Sizes 60 and 78: the Size 60 seal kit, the Size 78 lid and acrylic and seal, handle system and topcap, silver tracks, and the track cam and follower.
Catch blocks, the lock kit, retrofit stay packs and flyscreen hinge kits are also gathered in Lewmar hatch accessories.
Identify the Hatch Before You Order
The same size code can mean a different part in a different range, so start with the range. Lewmar's identifier separates Low Profile from Medium Profile by height above the deck, about 25 mm and 32 mm, and the Ocean sits in a deeper frame. Then read the size code, and finally the version: MKI, MKII, friction lever, telescopic stay or vent hole. Measuring the deck cut-out settles any doubt; the guide to measuring a Lewmar hatch shows how, and the Lewmar hatch guide compares the ranges.
Who It's For
Owners with a leaking, sticking or crazed Lewmar hatch they want to service rather than replace, refit projects that need one missing part, and anyone rebuilding a Low Profile hatch with the rebuild guide beside them.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a seal kit or a new lid?
If the frame, hinges and lens are sound and water gets past the closing edge, a seal kit is the part. If a new seal does not stop the leak, check the lid for hairline cracks: a cracked lid can leak in the same way as a worn seal. Our guide to Lewmar hatch replacement parts walks through the symptoms.
Does an MKII lid come with the friction lever?
On the Low Profile Size 44 MKII lid listing, no: the friction lever mechanism is stated as not included and is bought separately. Check the listing of the lid you choose.
What is the difference between Trim Kit, Trim Only and Fly Screen Only?
A Trim Kit is the interior trim ring with a hinged fly screen. Trim Only is the ring for an alloy-framed screen, and Fly Screen Only is the alloy-framed mesh for a plastic trim you already have. Our bug screen guide shows which one your hatch takes.
Can I use a spare from a different size or range?
No. Spares are listed for a specific range and size code, and Lewmar parts do not fit another maker's hatches. Match range, size and version from the title.
My hatch will not stay open. Which part do I need?
It depends on how the hatch holds its lid: a friction lever, a telescopic stay or a hinge. The hatch stay guide compares the options, and the friction lever, the stay retrofit pack and the hinge kits are listed in this range of spares.
