Layout, Voltage & Wiring

Layout & 12/24V Setting

  • Layout: battery → fitted-in battery cut-out → magneto-thermic circuit breaker → relay box → electric furling gear or electric code-sail furler; wired furl in/out control box or wireless version.
  • Loosen the 4 captive screws (A) holding the cover; do not try to remove them.
  • Fuse (B) is the voltage selector. (C) is the remote control circuit fuse, (D) the main power fuse.
  • Never let the cover hang by the electric wires.

Wiring & Tightening

  • Respect polarity: the electronic components will be destroyed if you don't.
  • Battery terminals and drive unit (M) terminals: 10 Nm max. Inside the box: 2.2 Nm max.
  • Excessive tightening torque irreversibly destroys the internal electronic main board; this damage is not covered by the warranty.
  • Connect the battery (via the circuit breaker), the headsail or code-sail furler, and the wired control circuit or optional wireless remote control as shown in the PDF.

Emergency Operation & Precautions

  • If the remote control circuit fails, you can run the furler clockwise and anti-clockwise from the relay box: remove the caps (8) over the push-buttons (9) and furl in or out. Refit the caps after use.
  • The emergency circuit is independent from the control circuit, so a blown control fuse does not affect it. In emergency mode make sure all safety conditions are respected before handling.
  • Installation and any further service must be carried out by a professional, following the rules for electrical equipment and the conditions of use on board.
  • If you must disassemble, never handle anything under power.
  • Serial number: the label gives the box number and the year of manufacture (example: relay box No 002, year 2019).

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible reason Solution
The furler doesn't work, or no longer works after the sail has been fitted Circuit breaker activated Make sure the electrical circuit is fully safe before resetting the circuit breaker.
Current overload Check that the main power fuse (D) is not blown.
The relay box is set to the wrong voltage Make sure the relay box is set to the correct voltage (C – 12/24V settings).
The furler works in only one way Control circuit connection error 1) Operate the emergency buttons, which are independent of the control circuit: if the furler works, the problem is in the control circuit. 2) Check the control options' wires are correctly connected (Optional Electric Remote Control instructions 29160050195). 3) Check the remote control fuse (C) is not blown.
