Dashboard & Controls

  • Push and hold ON/OFF to turn the panel on or off; a short press opens the backlight adjustment (20% - 50% - 80%, or 1% steps on the slider; default 80%).
  • Dashboard shows thruster type, applied thrust and direction and status for up to four thrusters (dual bow or dual stern share one joystick and one indicator); battery level for DC thrusters, motor or hydraulic oil temperature, deploy symbol for retractables.
  • Several panels on one bus: same direction → the thruster follows the highest command (own joystick dark blue, remote panel light blue); opposite directions → no thrust until one joystick returns to zero.
  • Opening the menu while running suspends thrust; joysticks must be centred again (also at power-on) before operation resumes.
  • Retractables deploy when the panel is turned ON and fully retract when it is turned OFF. AC thrusters wait for Power Available from the power management system (alarm after 60 second).

STOP & Alarms

  • STOP sends a stop message to all thrusters on the bus; push for 2 seconds to release, with joysticks centred. With a hydraulic controller it opens the load-sense dump valve and drops pressure to standby, typically 20 bar.
  • Every TP-35 on the bus enters alarm state on an alarm code, even if off (it switches itself on): blinking red background and audible signal.
  • Mute Active Alarms silences all panels; alarms stay listed (red unmuted, blue muted) with UTC time until you Clear Active Alarms.
  • Thrusters cannot run with active alarms, except oil over-temperature and low oil level from PHC-3 and AUX power undervoltage on -DNV variants.
  • QR codes link to Sleipner's Fault Code Navigator for each alarm.

System Devices

  • Lists every device on S-Link with serial number and location; exiting associates them to this panel (do it on every panel) and clears alarms. Two devices on the same location cause a setup conflict and stop thruster operation.
  • PDC-301 (AC): location, direction, SAC or SRAC, drive ABB ACS580/880 (default), VACON or Modbus profiles, max output 50% to 100%, load share limit, asymmetric thrust.
  • PHC-3 (hydraulic): bow/stern direction, Normal or SRHP function, asymmetric thrust.
  • E-series and PPC520 / PPC820 / PPC840: location, direction, type, max output, thermo switch, extended runtime, asymmetric thrust.
  • AMS / AMS-2: location. 8730 B / 8730 S interface: thrust 70%, final thrust, RAMP up / down for on/off controls.
  • SRC-3 retract controller: location only. SR150000: location, direction, type; Auto Retract Limit OFF, 3kn, 4kn, 5kn (default), 6kn (needs GPS via GW-1) – retract before going beyond five knots.
  • TMU-1 (RPM sensor 1024 pulses default, gear leg oil level and PT1000 temperature) and VDRI-1 voyage data recorder interface.

Panel Configurations

  • Joystick Settings: calibrated at the factory; recalibrate (single / dual Danfoss PVREL or Lilaas LE90/LF90/LF90X) if the TP-35 or joystick is replaced.
  • IO Configurations: DO_0, DO_1, DIO_0, DIO_1 and isolated DO_ISO – outputs Active Alarm, Audible Alarm, In Command; inputs TP-35 ON/OFF or ON-Take Command; a negative number inverts.
  • Settings: Timer Auto OFF (OFF default up to 60min), default backlight 80%, AUX power (-DNV), °C/°F, factory reset (hold 3 seconds), simulation mode for boat shows.
  • Licenses: -DNV variants ship with the DNV licence.
  • DNV variants: Select Station gives command to one panel at a time (Main or Remote workstation, lever alignment on by default), power-supply failure alarm via the AUX input, motor RPM and gear leg low oil alarm via TMU-1. An independent emergency stop is also required for DNV compliance.

TP-35 Panel

  • Flat, easy-to-reach spot at least 20 cm from any compass; fit the cover when the panel is in a weather-exposed spot and not in use.
  • Top mount: cut with the supplied template, fit the gasket (seal a chipped edge), plug in the cables and fit the cover frame.
  • Flush mount: cut and mill the marked area, seal the milled surface, then fix with four studs, washers and nuts or custom brackets (not included).
  • Rear access may be impossible afterwards: connect X1 joystick and X2 S-Link spur first. LF90 and LF90X have the cable fixed in the joystick – install and route it before fastening the panel.
  • Joystick cable 1.5 meter; 2-meter extension order number SM909741, no more than five in series (unshielded cable).

Joysticks & I/O

  • PVREL single / dual and LE90, LF90, LF90X: cut with the supplied template, connect to X1 and fasten with screws. Dual PVREL uses a Y-connector: bow joystick to X2, stern to X3, panel cable to X1 (or assign by joystick calibration).
  • LE90: set screws remove the 0% detent (enabled by default) or the ±10% detent (disabled by default) with a 3mm hex key; friction with a 1.5mm hex key; DIP switch for backlight colour, switch for backlight power from the panel or +24V.
  • X3 I/O cable (2 meters, order number SM908998, included with -DNV): digital outputs at supply voltage, max 100mA total; isolated relay DO_ISO max 45mA; inputs high >4.5 VDC, low <0.5 VDC, pulse >200 ms; IOs tolerate up to +31V.
  • Optional external buzzer (max 100mA) on DO_1, DIO_0, DIO_1 or via a relay on DO_ISO; Sleipner buzzer order number SM909828 (85dB).
  • External Select Station button: normally open, spring-return push button on a DIO set to "2 TP-35 ON-Take Command", indicator lamp on a DO set to "3 In Command", common GND with S-Link.

Cut-out templates for LE90, LF90X, single and dual PVREL joysticks and the TP-35 top mount are in the downloads: print at 100% and check the dimensions on the drawing before cutting.
