U = USA configuration, E = European configuration. Transmitters and receivers are also sold individually.

Transmitters

  • RCT-20: bow and stern thruster directional control.
  • RCT-21: one thruster plus windlass release / retract.
  • RCT-22: bow and stern windlass release / retract.
  • RCT-23: bow and stern thruster plus bow and stern windlass.
  • ON / OFF buttons for the radio; the remote is shaped like the boat – mind its orientation.
  • Wear the neck strap so it cannot go over the side, and keep it in its holder out of reach of children and unauthorised crew.

Pairing Extra Transmitters

  1. The original transmitter and receiver share a factory code – no pairing needed.
  2. With the receiver powered (RCR-2: green LED blinking; RCRS-2: S-Link LED green) and the new transmitter off, press the receiver Pair Button (RCR-2: red and green blink; RCRS-2: LINK/ACT blinks).
  3. Within 10s, hold OFF on the transmitter and press both ON buttons: all its LEDs light; they go off when pairing succeeds.
  4. Up to 4 transmitters per receiver. To clear all, hold the Pair Button approximately 10s until the LEDs stop blinking.

LED & Alarm Indication

Unit / state Indication
Transmitter on Yellow LEDs blink each second
Buttons activated Yellow LEDs blink fast
Pairing mode All LEDs on
Connection lost Red LED blinks once each second, 3 beeps each second
Low battery Red LED blink, one beep
RCR-2 receiver Green blinking = powered, no transmitter; green on = transmitter connected; both blinking = pairing
RCRS-2 S-Link LED Continuous green = S-Link bus active; blinking = no activity
RCRS-2 LINK/ACT On = transmitter connected; blinking = pairing mode

Receiver

  • At least 1 meter (3ft) from high-power and data cables and other interference sources (navigation instruments, radios, electric motors, generators), at least 1 meter (3ft) above sea level, outside metal or shielded boxes, and dry – the receiver is not waterproof.
  • Mount with the four holes; switch off power to the thrusters during installation.
  • RCR-2: separate power supply with a 5 Amp fuse in the positive lead and its own switch (or switched by the thruster main switch) – never from the thruster/windlass control looms. Its negative must join the thrusters' negative; bow and stern thrusters need a common negative.
  • RCRS-2: powered from S-Link.
  • Windlass signal output max. 4A – use an extra control relay above that. Other windlass brands: wire from the output signals diagram.
  • Output wires: thruster RED positive, BLUE STBD, GREY PORT, YELLOW Automatic Main Switch enable; windlass RED common, BLUE in, GREY out.

S-Link version operating range: 30m under normal operating conditions. Battery change: switch everything off, open the 3 torx screws, flip out the old cell, fit a CR2032 positive side up under the grips, check the seal and refit the screws with their sealing washers.
