eVision Compatibility

  • eVision thruster motor: firmware V1.015 or newer (motors shipped before November 28. 2022 need the upgrade).
  • PJC2xx panels: firmware V3.018 or newer; hardware V2.000 or older does not support eVision (production of that hardware stopped Q2 2020). PJC2xx hardware V3.000 or newer drops in without mechanical changes; the version is in the panel info menu or on the serial label.
  • PJC42x panels: firmware V1.002 or newer. PJC3xx panels do not support eVision motors.
  • Retract controller 150000: firmware V1.036 or newer, function set to "ERV/ERL"; retract controller SR 6 1242 does not support eVision.
  • Automatic Main Switch, Gateway, ESI-1 and S-Link remote control work without updates (latest firmware still recommended).

Positioning & Mounting

  • Fit as deep on the stern as possible, out of the hull's water flow and clear of drives and trim tabs; off-centre or slightly angled only if needed.
  • Keep the motor compartment ventilated, dry and clear of flammable items and loose gear. Never lift by the internal cable connections or main terminals.
  • Drill the main Ø140 hole first, then the Ø13 bolt holes; the assembly must sit flush on the transom.
  • MS Polymer around the base of the central connector and the 4 threaded rods.
  • Tighten the nuts in a cross pattern (1-2-3-4) in three rounds: 5 Nm (3,68 lb/ft), 50 Nm (36,88 lb/ft), 110 Nm (81,13 lb/ft).
  • Cowls or grids with the included bolts; drill cowls to the tunnel before mounting.

Propeller & Power Lugs

  1. Antifouling on gear leg and propeller – not on rubber elements or anodes.
  2. Centre the drive pin, slide the propeller on and align the pin with the slot.
  3. Fit the washer and lock nut: 20 Nm (14.75 lb/ft).
  4. Fit the anode with its holding screw, using Loctite 243 or similar.
  5. Power lugs on the motor: M10 nut max 23 Nm (16.96 lb/ft), holding the inner nut.

With the main switch off, check with an ohmmeter that there is no connection between motor flange and either motor terminal. Observe battery polarity.

  • Cable sizes are for reference only: nominal current is measured at 21V at the motor; lower voltage raises current. Battery health, cable runs, tunnel installation, ventilation and marine growth all affect current draw – have an experienced electrician size cables, fuses and batteries.
  • Fuse and main switch close to the battery positive; slow-blow fuses that hold nominal current for minimum 5 minutes.
  • The Automatic Main Switch must be supplied with 24V only (AMS serial No.0 017664 or higher). With one battery bank for two thrusters, fit a dedicated AMS with fuse for each, close to the batteries.
  • A battery close to the thruster shortens the power cables; on large vessels or catamarans consider a dedicated battery per thruster.
