Configuring TMU-1

Location (default Bow): Bow (or port bow of two), Stern (or port stern of two), Bow Starboard, Stern Starboard – match the thruster it is wired to.
Oil Level Sensor (default Enable): the oil tank level switch is normally closed and opens when the level drops; Enable makes TMU-1 raise an alarm when it opens.
Speed Sensor (default Enable): reports measured RPM on S-Link for panels or a Voyage Data Recorder.
Speed Sensor Resolution: pulses per revolution, 1 to 5000 (default 1024, typical for AC thrusters).
Speed Sensor Direction (default Normal): use Swapped if starboard does not read positive RPM and port negative.
Configure from a PJC4xx panel (see its user manual).

Installing TMU-1

Screw the box to a solid surface.
Connect an S-Link SPUR Cable between TMU-1 and a T-connector on the S-Link BACKBONE Cable.
Connect the RPM Sensor Cable between TMU-1 and the RPM sensor on the motor (AC motor or hydraulic motor).
Connect the Oil Level Sensor Cable between TMU-1 and the oil tank.
Configure TMU-1 (PJC4xx user manual).

Installation Rules

Keep BACKBONE and SPUR lengths to a minimum; consult your distributor if the total BACKBONE exceeds 100 meters.
Fasten cables to avoid sharp bends, chafe and strain on connectors; close the connector locks fully.
Do not leave cables, T-Connectors or Extenders permanently immersed; make a U-bend before each product connector so water does not run into it.
Ideally connect the POWER Cable in the middle of the BACKBONE for equal voltage drop at both ends.
Route S-Link away from radio transmitters, antennas and high voltage cables.
Unused SPUR cables may be left unterminated for future equipment: protect the open connectors from water.
Connect only original Sleipner S-Link products or authorised equipment directly to the bus; third-party equipment goes through a Sleipner interface, and at least one original Sleipner control panel must still be installed.
