INSTRUCTIONS
A map of the Sleipner TP-43A stabilizer panel menus as shown in Sleipner's interactive guides (firmware v3.000 for electric and hydraulic stabilizers, and the earlier eSCU firmware), plus the step-by-step panel firmware update by USB stick or Wi-Fi.

About the Interactive Guides
- The interactive guides simulate the panel: click the on-screen buttons (the pointer changes to a hand) and the matching panel view opens. Start by pressing the on/off button. They work best in a desktop PDF reader.
- Three versions: electric stabilizers (eSCU) firmware v3.000, hydraulic stabilizers (SCU) firmware v3.000, and the earlier eSCU firmware 2.107 guide.
- They are for guidance only and do not replace the stabilizer user manual and its safety information.
Panel Menu Map (firmware v3.000)
| Menu | What you find there |
|---|---|
| Home | Stabilizers, S-Link Devices, System Status, Configuration, and the alarm status (no alarms / alarm list with Clear all alarms). |
| Stabilizers | Stabilizer ON/OFF and At Anchor buttons, fin and roll display, status (OFF, stabilizing cruising, stabilizing at anchor); side menu for modes and gain; touch a fin for its page (state, angle, On/Off, Docking). |
| Modes | Eco mode, Park mode, Fishing mode, Dynamic positioning (each can be pinned), Show help. |
| Gain | At anchor gain and cruising gain, set with + / -. |
| S-Link Devices | Each device (e.g. SCU-12, GW-1) with Info, Upgrade, Logger, Fault history and Upload logs. |
| System Status | Stabilizers (operating hours at anchor and cruising, per-fin time until oil change), GPS (availability, satellites, source, update frequency, lost packets), Steering. |
| Configuration → Panel | Boat name, network (Wi-Fi / LAN), remote service access, firmware (installed / online / USB, change log, rollback), output pins, reboot, factory reset, about. |
| Configuration → Stabilizers (PIN) | Settings (handling: backing detection, SCU mount direction, suspend exit state, thruster-on handling; stabilizing; fins & actuators endstops), Maintenance (test mode, manual mode, encoder calibration, force GPS) and Setup (zero inclination, fin installation and keel centre, dynamic centering with float fins and capture). |
- Default code for the protected stabilizer configuration: 1234.
- Gain: the cruising gain is linked to the cruising P and D values; more gain gives more fin reaction and roll sensitivity, too much makes operation erratic. It is mainly used to reduce fin action on a properly set-up system. The at anchor gain adjusts fin acceleration.
- Eco mode: the guides state max fin angular velocity is reduced to 60%.
- Set the boat name before logging; the panel needs an internet connection to download upgrades or upload logs.
TP-43A Panel Firmware Update
By USB stick
- Format a USB memory stick as FAT32. In S-Link Programmer open Tools > Download Manager and download the first required TP-43A firmware file.
- Put only one firmware file on the stick at a time – the files share the same extension and the panel cannot tell them apart.
- Insert the stick in the USB port on the back of the panel, confirm the install, wait, then remove the stick and confirm the reboot.
- If more updates are needed, delete the file, download the next one and repeat (e.g. a panel on firmware 1.x takes File 1, then File 2 and File 3).
- If it fails, repeat; if it fails again, try another USB stick. The TP-43A keeps two firmware partitions, so the previous firmware stays as a backup.
Over Wi-Fi
- From panel firmware 1.106 (released 10 November 2021) the TP-43A can download panel firmware over a wireless connection.
- Main menu → Panel settings → Wi-Fi/network settings, choose the network and enter the password; then the Update tab → Software Update and follow the screen.
- If the internet update cannot be completed, use the USB procedure. S-Link Programmer is downloaded from Sleipner's Side-Power website.
