Lid support Friction lever Friction lever
Height off deck 21mm 40mm+

Both share handles with locking buttons and friction levers; the height of the frame off the deck tells them apart. Dates as printed on the Coastline vs Ocean sheet.

Low & Medium Profile: Mk1 or Mk2?

  • The Low and Medium Profile hatches changed from Mk1 to Mk2 between July and December 2000. All Bénéteau and Bavaria hatches are Mk2.
  • Roll pin: on Mk1 hatches a roll pin is visible on the underside of the lid near the hinge. There is no roll pin on Mk2.
  • Lens code: standard sizes of Mk1 hatches have a code that starts 399…; standard sizes of Mk2 hatches start A399…. Non-standard sizes may not follow this pattern.

Identify Your Portlight
