On the Technical Side

CXe runs on SEL-Bus and a Power Supply Unit (PSU) that converts 12V or 24V to 42V; further SEL-Bus functions can run on the same PSU. 42V allows smaller power cables (6 mm²) and a compact brushless motor.

Code 0 Halyard with 2:1 Purchase

To reach the luff tension a Code 0 needs, the halyard load must be higher than normal halyard boxes and stoppers can handle. Arrange a 2:1 purchase: fix the dead end of the halyard in the mast and run it through a block attached to the halyard swivel. The position on the mast must be specified by Selden; in most cases Code 0 sails are hoisted lower than gennakers and spinnakers.

The Tack Swivel converts a CXe into a top-down furling system for an asymmetric spinnaker. To furl, stay at an apparent wind angle of 90-120° with light pressure on the sheet; push and hold IN to start, then press OUT at the same time for high speed.
